Collins Lonnie Kellogg D.L. McGillen Jim Worthington Don Hackmann The mid-year budget review was distributed. Review the correspondence and ordinances which are on the • Council agenda tonight. Look over the committee appointment list. Under mayor's comments tonight, the Mayor will ask approval for hiring a new patrolman. Jim Worthington reported that the underpass has been cleaned up with the help of the Highway department. Two of the lights were also replaced. Chuck Rodgers thanked Jim and the crew for getting the grease spill sanded so quickly which happened on Pennsylvania between E. Main and. E. First. Jim said they found out who did it, and a bill for $50 will be sent to them for sanding costs. The Police helped locate the party responsible for the spill. Darrell McGillen reported on the structure fire on Friday, January 31st, south of Laurel. Upon responding it was discovered later that the fire was outside of Fire District #8. Due to the severity of the fire and not knowing about life safety at the time, Darrell made the decision to proceed to the fire. When the Joliet fire department arrived, the fire was turned over to them and Laurel's crew returned back to town. 0 c Page 2 City Council Committee of the Whole February 4, 1992 Over the week-end the Joliet Fire Department brought in the state Fire Marshall and Rob Harris and Darrell had the opportunity to spend some time with him going over the fire and some other situations within the city limits of Laurel. Darrell said it was a very informative week-end and they learned alot. They were advised of some things which come about in Laurel that they were not aware of and they are waiting for a report from the State Fire Marshall.
