The DNRC is now accepting applications for Reclamation and Development
Grants Program (RDGP) planning grants. The deadline for the first cycle of
planning grant applications is June 30, 2009.
Th -planning grant program-funds Cocal planning efforts for naturaTresource

other local government entities may apply.
Planning grants must address at least one of the following: (1) reclamation of
land, water, or other resources adversely affected by mineral development
(mining and oil and gas development); (2) mitigation of damage to natural
resources caused by mineral development; (3) investigation and remediation of

the environment, or (4) crucial state need. Projects addressing a crucial state

Up to $50,000 is available per project, depending on the intended planning
activities. Planning grant funds must be used to hire outside engineering or
other consulting services to assist the applicant in planning and developing a
technically feasible natural resource related project for application submittal
during the next regularly scheduled RDGP grant cycle beginning May 15, 2010.
