The Tree Board met on May 5*, 2009, at the request of Mr. Fred Bicha, Forester of the
DNRC in Billings. He wanted the Tree Board to sponsor an overnight workshop on tree care and
culture in this area, to be held in Laurel on the a and 9m of October 2009. .
As the meeting progressed, Pat Hart suggested we enlist the Chamber of Commerce for
support. ' Emelie Eaton said she would get the matter on the agenda for the next City Council
meeting, and also suggested inviting the Park Board. ,
The secretary of the Chamber of Commerce joined us and suggested sites for a meeting and
contact with local motels for rates for visitors. Mr. Bicha suggested some of the start up costs -
funds for brochures, mailings, mileage, catering, a tree for demonstrations, and gifts for speakers
were all cited as up front expenses. Fees for attendance and for vendors were not set.
A follow-up meeting for June 2°a was set to assess feasibility.
