Gay Easton and Norman Orr will not be at the council
meeting tonight.
Chuck said that he will bring up a couple of items tonight
under Mayor's comments regarding the old library building and
the Williams Agency building.
Everyone was reminded to review the committee minutes.
Jim reported that he received a letter from the Department
of Health and Environmental Sciences and according to legislation
that was passed in 1989 the state can delegate authority to the
local areas for review and approval of extensions and small
water and sewer plans. In the past the City of Laurel has always
had somebody review them. New regulations state that if the
City wants to do that they have to designate who is going to do
their plan review. The state requires that whoever is going to
do the review attend an 8 hour plan review seminar on February 1st
in Helena.
Jim feels that he is qualified to do this and he plans to
attend the seminar.
Lonnie reported that the downtown alleys need sanding again.
Jim said that they are going to try to do some work in the alleys
tomorrow.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
