The Sheriff and Undersheriff would like to use the Council
Chambers on February 25th between 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. to meet with
Laurel people to discuss any problems that they might be having.
Mike thought it might behoove us to have some council members
show up. Also, someone needs to unlock the doors for them. They
are going to try to do this 3 or 4 times a year. .
Ron mentioned that there will be a public committee meeting
Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the police station to discuss changing
our city court to a municipal court.
Chuck Rodgers reported that Ernie Davis has been making
payments about every other month.
Chuck also mentioned that the mid-year budget review
indicates that we are about where we should be at this time of the
year.
Mike said that.one of the reasons why the animal control
budget is tight is because the impound fees were doubled in
September. (Last year we spent $345 for the first 6 months, this
year we have spent $311). The fees went from $15.00 to $30.00 per
animal.
Connie Lind will be off work from 4-6 weeks due to surgery.
Mike said that the county animal control may be able to assist us.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
