Gay reported that the Grant Committee held its first meeting on
April 29th.
Discussion regarding the garbage at Jan's IGA on Monday morning.
Dave took some pictures for the Garbage Committee to look at.
L.D. reported that he had a complaint from Mr. Barnhardt. He had
accidently parked his vehicle in front of the garbage can and the
garbage truck driver came in the store and got rather abusive. The
driver climbed back in his truck and finally dumped the garbage.
L.D. mentioned that Air Pollution Control had called him and said
that the state gave approval for the City to receive two 14'
trailer houses, which are about big enough for an office. They are
sitting out at the County right now. (The plans are to use these
trailers at the Container site).
It was reported that alley clean up is this week.
Ron was approached by the manager of Town Pump and they are
planning to remodel and would like to get their drinking
restrictions changed. The manager was wondering if there was
anything the Council would do to lift the restrictions on drinking
on the premises.
Jim presented two drawings regarding the remodeling of the old
library building, so that it can be used as a courtroom and council
chambers. Bids will be opened on May 18th.
Mike Atkinson reported that they have tested all of the applicants
for Relief Dispatcher and he would like a decision tonight on who
to hire.
The Personnel Committee will review the top three applicants right
10
after this meeting and make the announcement during the regular
council meeting.
Chuck mentioned to review the correspondence regarding a meeting at
the County Courthouse on May 7th regarding the Women's Correction
Facility. He would like someone to attend, if they could.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:47 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Don Hackmann
City Clerk
