BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE

A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
The committee-met again with representatives from HKM.to review the
preliminary draft for revenue requirements and rates on the
sewer utilities for the City of Laurel. Bonding requirements and
sewer rate increases were presented and discussed, and this will
be presented to the Council at the regular council meeting on
November 3rd.
The committee gave approval for the City Clerk to attend the District
"C" meeting of the Clerks , Treasurers and Finance Officers
Association in Wolf Point on Friday, October 22nd.
Among items on the agenda are: a workshop on the change from
"bearer bonds" to "registered bonds,-" discussion on..Governor.
Schwinden's proposal for a block grant program and a report on
a study conducted by the City of Wolf Point on "opportunity
costs." This deals with the new consumer connection-user charge
assessed.to new installations in relationship to water, sewer,
streets and recreation.
The committee also discussed Don Meyers' request to..transfer $2,500 from
the boom truck budget to the park budget in revenue sharing.
Discussion.
Motion by Duane Behm to approve the purchase of the tractor
at $7,595 and not to allow the purchase of any attachments at
this time, seconded by Bob Gauthier. Carried.
