BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
DATE June 7, 1983 TIME 4:30 p.m.
PLACE OF MEETING City Hall
A. Members present: Chairman absent
Don Hackmann , Sue Carter , Albert Ehrlick
B. Other's present: Pe Arnold , Alan Urowe
A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Approved a purchase requisition from the library for roof
repair in the amount of $2,300 from Revenue Sharing.
Approved a purchase requisition from the Police Department
for the purchase of a chair for the dispatchers in the amount
of $340 from Revenue Sharing.
Informal bids have been received from two firms for the purchase
of telephones. However, the committee recommended that the
City get.a bid from Mountain Bell to purchase the phones we
now have.
A letter was received from the Yellowstone County Sheriff's
. Department asking-that we decrease our annual rental fee for
their office in Laurel 'from $1,000 a year to $500. The
committee recommends that we charge a rental fee of $750•
The claims were reviewed, and the committee recommends that
they be paid.

SUBJECT: FEE FOR OFFICE SPACE
I am sure you are aware of the cutbacks in government these
days and the lack of dollars in which to operate.
After evaluating our 1983 - 1984 budget, it seems that
Yellowstone County will not be an exception to the cost
• cutting procedures.
We are respectfully asking that the $1000.00 per year fee
paid to Laurel for the office space occupied by our resident
deputy be reduced to $500.00 for the upcoming fiscal year.
Your consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
