Greetings:
Laurel Museum, Inc, has an interesting opportunity. We have the chance
to acquire 240 yards of high quality commercial carpeting for the
old library building at a very low cost. Karmen and Carolyn Brooks,
owner operators of K-C Interiors, have found a real bargain on some
excellent carpeting and are willing to do the following:
1. They will purchase the yardage at cost of $4.80 per sq. yard.
2. They will not take any mark-up on their cost as shown above.
3. They will install the carpet at no cost to us or the city
(Volunteers from Laurel Museum, Inc, will remove the old
carpeting at no cost to the city.)
Cost on the carpet is $1,150 for the 240 yards presently carpeted
in the old library. We estimate the donation in lost profit and labor
• conservatively at $5 per yard considering normal installation is $2.85
these days.
Even though we don't have our lease signed yet, Laurel Museum, Inc.
is asking for help from the city to cover the cost of material.
Regardless of when the city is financially able to convert some (or
all) of the space for its use, I am sure you will be able to take
advantage of a significant remaining life of this floor covering. It
would appear a good joint effort! A good benefit for the museum in
the short run and good benefit for the city in the long run.
as for the
Qrri
Laurel Museum, Inc.
P.S. Because this 'special deal' was only available for a few days
due to a carpet market in Denver, we told K-C Interiors to proceed.
Although we know the city has the right to reject any suggestion by
us regarding remodeling, we are confident you will find our selection
in good taste, and a definite improvement over the carpeting in place
now. Please understand that if after inspection, the color or quality
appears unsatisfactory, you will be under no obligation to help with
is the purchase.
