Ken Young
A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Ken Young and Les Hilliard, from Cable Montana, Inc.,
were present to discuss renewal of their agreement with the
City. The current Ordinance gives an expiration date of April
• 15, 1989. There was a discussion regarding the extension of
the current agreement for a few months to allow more time
for negotiating a .new contract.
Motion by Bruce Teeters, seconded by Norman Orr to
recommend that the Council pass a Resolution to extend the
current agreement until June 30, 1989 to allow time for
negotiations on a new agreement. Motion carried.
Further discussion regarding possibly having a Consultant
do the negotiating and also to shorten the contract term from
20 years to 10 years.
Reviewed and approved purchase requisitions as follows:

Misc. cleaning supplies for Fire

New 1,000 gallon per minute pump
to replace old pump. 5,000.00
The old pump is a 1956 model and there was a lengthy
discussion on whether to repair or replace it.
Motion by Rob Harris, seconded by Norman Orr to approve
the purchase of a new pump assembly not to exceed $5,000
for the Water Plant. This is to be purchased from the 1989-90
budget. Motion carried.
