HomeMy WebLinkAboutBudget/Finance Committee Minutes 04.18.1990M I N U T E S • BUDGET FINANCE COMMITTEE Date April 18, 1990 Time 4:30 p.m. Place of Meeting City Hall MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman- Bob Gauthier Norman Orr OTHER'S PRESENT: .Peg Arnold Jim Worthington Donna Kilpatrick Don Hackmann Dave Michael A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken by the Committee: The Committee reviewed the following 1990-91 preliminary budgets: Library Water Fund • Sewer Fund Solid Waste Fund Discussion regarding purchasing-`new pickups instead of used ones. Dave got informal quotes from Fichtner Chevrolet and Laurel Ford. The cost for a ton would be about $10,000 and a 3/4 ton would be about $111000. The Committee made the following recommendation: A 1986 Ford ? ton pickup is already based in the Sewer System and it is not being used properly. Replace the wrecked 1980 Ford 1-ton with this one. It is not necessary to buy another one for the Sewer Fund. Transfer the 1984 Ford Ranger to the City Shop. It is already based in the General Fund, leave it in this fund. Purchase a NEW pickup from gas tax money to replace the Ranger. This pickup will be based in the Street Department and used by the City Engineer, who is in charge of and responsible for street maintenance. Purchase a NEW pickup from Equipment Reserve to replace the worn out 1971 Chevy Pickup based in the Parks Department. • The pickups would be included in the 1990-91 budgets. It is also recommended to advertise for bids in May. It will take 6-8 weeks for delivery. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Respectfully submitted, • Don Hackmann City Clerk
