The Committee reviewed the following 1993-94 preliminary budgets:
Director of Public Works
Streets- General Fund
Streets- State Gas Tax
Snow Removal
Sweeping
Solid Waste
Preliminary reports indicate that due to the gas tax increase the
legislature recently passed, the City of Laurel should receive an
increase of about $38,000 in their annual allotment. This would
raise our annual receipts from $105,000 to $143,000.
According to state law, third class cities and towns can use up to
250 of their annual allotment for equipment purchases.
The Committee recommended to transfer $25,000 to the Capital
Projects Fund- street equipment.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
