ASPHALT SUPPLY REVIEW COMMITTEE

A quorum 0 or more) present the following action was taken by
the committee:
Dick Metzger arrived at 2:25 p.m., but the meeting had already
been adjourned. --
Mr. Jamison was asked:
-- If his company had checked with the BN to see if the plant could
move to the Mossmain property. He didn't know but a man had
come to the plant to see if the tanks could be moved.
Had the venting requirements (collapsible lid) been completed?
No, but the equipment/materials to do so are at the plant and
we should get it up this week or next.
• -- Could BN land east of 5th Avenue be used for parking trucks?
Didn't know. Tried to call but couldn't get the Denver office.
-- The amount of liability insurance held by Asphalt Supply
$1,000,000.00.
The committee has recently received complaints about odor. Two
asphalt tanks have been filled - took 4 days to fill the 2 tanks.
The mist eliminator had not been in use because they were working
on it.
--- When are they going to widen the gate? Don't know, but the
power company did come look at the power pole, but when they
are going to move it is unknown.
Mr. Jamison said the first truck should load between May 10--15,
about 6,000 gallons of naptha is being stored there now and has
been stored there all.winter. The naptha is added to the product
as it is loaded.
The next meeting will be April 30th at 2 pm in Council Chambers.
Joe Bradley will check on costs of having a chemical engineering
firm assess the problem and with Tom Selleck, Deputy State Fire
Marshal, about a State law which says materials such as naptha
should not be stored within 500 ft. of a residential area.
