Members present: Chairman Bill Brennan B. 0- .Bob Western , Ron Faught , Ernie Davis Darvo Michaels Other Is present: Cindy Mecce,ge,Ja_ n Keller Ann• Easton 7 H d JiM Knight =err y Krum, tan Burkley, t.Bill Caton A quorum (3 or more) present the following action was taken by the committee: Mr.Hotvedt,representing the Laurel Jayoees,requested permission to erect a tie barrier around the grassy area, south of Riverside Hall.They would like to erect playground equipment in this area. The Committee recommends approval following an inspection of the area. Lt.Bill Caton of the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Department has requested permission to use the outdoor range.at Riverside Park to "qualify"deputies.Tnitially the Rifle Club,which holds the lease,refused.Mr.Knight,Burkley,and Krum of the Rifle Club explained thier objections such as ; complaints from area residents about the noise, (72 officers shooting about 100 rounds apiece),park users objecting to the man- shaped targets,etc. Both parties agreed more public relations were needed and will work together for the Fall shoot. Anne Easton,Parks Summer Recreation Director,reported that the program has been set up with ads placed in stores around Laurel and an ad in the Outlook.Sign up is on June 13 &14 at the West School. The Pool will be filled Friday and open Saturday.Life Guard training and recertification will start Monday evening at 7:30 P.M.
