R. M. Williams, Vice President (County Rep.) Gerald Shay, Member-at-Large, Exec. Secty Bus Roberts (City Rep.) Ed LaPrath (County Rep.) Marvin Carter (City Rep.) Members absent: Kenneth Christian (County Rep.) Joseph M. Bradley (City Rep.) Jim Seaton (County Rep.) Hal Dantic (City Rep.) Representative from County Commissioner's Office Also present: Cal Cumin, Cumin Associates, Billings Chris Stanford, 419 E. 4th Street, Laurel Shiela Blohm, 1021 7th Avenue, Laurel Minutes of previous meeting approved as sent out. HOME OCCUPATION: Christina Stanford, 419 E. 4th Street, requests a home occupation for storage of candies. Mrs. Stanford gives parties at other people's homes and needs her home to prepare for the parties. Cal Cumin recommends approval subject to Mrs. Stanford talking to the health department and fire'-inspector. Motion to recommend con- ditional approval by Gerald Shay, seconded by R. M. Williams. Passed unanimously. SIGN ORDINANCE: Bus Roberts asked if there is an existing sign ordinance. al Cumin says there is but it is pretty loose. ROGER ANDERSON: No change. Information Home occupations are deemed to be both site specific and owner specific; CITY OF LAUREL HOME ACCUPATION RLQUEST FORM Page 2 thus, the use of a portion of a structure as a home occupation will not permit a subsequent owner an automatic home occupation designation. Procedure 1. Complete home occupation request form and submit it to the City seven (7) working days prior to a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Board. 2. The Planning Board will consider the request at their regu- larly scheduled meeting. Attendance at this meeting is required by the applicant or his /her representative. 3. The Planning Board will make a recommendation to the City Council that the specific request for a home occupation designation be granted or denied. 4. The City Council will consider the Planning Board's recom- mendation concerning the specific home occupation designation and approve or deny it at their next regularly scheduled meeting. Attendance by the applicant or his /her represent- ative is required at this meeting.
