The City Council met i refular secsisn at the Ccuncil Chambers
cf the City Hall ut eight c'cicck P., .
The meeting was called tc order by PI-ycr Stripp.
Present, Aldermen, Laird, Davis, Hac_eter,Jaccbs,11cren and
Hanner.
The minutes of last meetinE were read Pnd approved as read.
The 77ater Power and S wer Committee reported that the back
filling cn the sewer districts had been properly completed.
The committee repc.rted that the installatidn cf the new pump
is satisfactcry, but they recommended that twenty-five per cent cf
the estimate be withhtld until the pump proves tc be satisfactcry.
The report cf Final Estimate on Special Improvement Listricts Nc.
1=2,13 and 14, was submitted and cn mcticn duly m -de, secc ndec: and
carried, it: was moved that said report be accepted, and warrants
were crd.ered drawn fcr the full amount.
On mcticn duly made, secc nded a .d carried, the Cc uracil
directed that twenty-five per cent cf the -Engineer's find estimate
cn the Security Bridge Company's contract be :ithheld until the
pump be finally tested out and proven satisfactcry.

read and. approved as r -c -ad.
Communication from John Price & Cc. was read, and upon
mcticn duly made, seconded and carried, the clerk was instructed
to furnish said cc.mpany with the data called fcr in the letter.
Ccmmunicaticn from the Natic nal ivieter Company was read and
ordered placed cn file.
The application cf Riodcch & Haley, accompanied by surety bond
in the sum cf 2,000 fcr retail _ iquc r license was read. Upon mcticn
duly made,seccnded and carried, th said ap>licaticn was approved and
a license c.rdere - is:ued; permitting them tc carry cn the business'
of retail liquor dealers within the City cf Laurel fcr the period of cne
year from January the lst, 1916.
The bend. cf Frank Tright, in the sum cf .'2,000 for retail liquor
license was_:. read. Upcn me tic n duly rade, seconded aid carried, the said
bond was approved arld a licens- ordered issued, permittin` him to carry
on the business of retail liquor dealer withiin the City cf Laurel fcr the
pericd c f one year f rc m the 1st day cf January, 1916.
