City Council met in regulp r session at the Council Cham' e rs
at 8 o'clock P.D.I.
14eeting called to order by the a ctinq mayor.
Present, aldermen Laird, Hnr,n,Lavis, Hageter and Hanner.
1,127inutes of last meeting read and approved on motion
duly made seconded and carried.
Treasures teport for the month of July wap read and a )proved
on motion duly m -de seconded and carried.
Tater Commissioners report for the month of July ,a read
and a ppl-oved on motion duly made ti econded 2nd carried.

A motion was duly made seconc ed -,nd carried t=:at, the said report
be returned b, -,:k tothe Police J„_idge for corr,cti.cns.
Report of the Chief of Police for t”,e month of July
was read. D""tion was duly made seconded and carried that said
report be returned back to the Chief of Police, and that the
same becorrected and made on a new form, and the sarne be Tx• esented
at the next re ul^r meeting.

The City Clerk wasinst.ructed to notify ;,rcLau---lin & O'geil
concerning the repair necessary on the Corey hydrants �.hichwere
installed by them in Special Tmprovement D; stric
IT o. 11.
A motion was duly made, seconded and carried permitting
J.H.Mendenhall to install electric sign over the sidewalk on n -Iain
Street in front of the Malcom Hotel.
Comrnunication and offer of James IT. ?'r:i ght .& Co. , con erring the
12000.00 Pond Issue of the Citir of Laurel was read. A motion wasduly
made seconded and carried that the :,aid proposition be accepted and that
theacting mayor and clerk be instructed to nter into a contract with
with said company fo- the funnishing cf bonds nd preppration of legal
procedure in conneotic-n with said bonds.

On motion duly made seconded and carried, the clerk was instri?ctyd
to notify the Security Bridge Company tIiat they wo .ld expect them to
commence work on or before Lurrust 10th, and -if for any reason, could not
the council would like to be so informed.

Ordinance No. 124 relating to Special Improvement Di trict
No. 17 was read. A motion was made and seconded th f, said
rexl�ition be passed and approved as read. On roll call the vote,
stood as folloWS:

Absent: - None .
Resolutir:n 89 relating to taxlevy for the ye^r 1915 was
read.:"_: A IIotinn was made seconded and carried that said resolution
be passed and approved as read. Upon roll call the vote stoodas follows:

A motion lxa., dlzly made, seconded and carried instructing the
clerk to communicate with the industrial Accident Board concerning
the assessment levied by then upon the City of Laurel for the first
quarter of the fiscal year 1915.
A motion was made by Hanner and seconded by Hageter that the
ppoceedings in Special Improvement District No. 15 be tabled for tt.e
time being, there being no bids received by the clerk for the
constrixtinn of the impDDvements therein. upon -roll call the -ote
stood as follows:
Ayes:- Laird, Horen, D.1vis, ii? peter and Hanner.
Nos: - None.

A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that the City
Attorne7r be enpowered and instructed to cond>>ctto' a hearingthe injunction
now pending; concerning' the improvements to be constructed in Special
Irnpr•ovPrm ;nt Di -,tri ct No. 15.
The acting IAayor appointed J.B.Platt as plumbing innnector.

A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that said appoientment
me approved by the Council.
A motion gra duly made, seconded and oprried instructing the
clerk to notify the Northern Pacific Rail way Corn ;any that they will
tap the Mater mains in German Town treat the intersection of Forrest
Avenue and Pailroad Streot and rur the service pipe ?.cross railroad
Street and there install the copropation cock, providing; the Company
will txkx run the service pipe form there to the stock yards and install

heir own hydrant. Further that the City rail j furnish the ter for ' he
stock yard purposes at the flat rate of `1.00 per month. Or motion
duly amde, seconded and carried, the clerk_ was instructed to notify
the Northern Pacific Pailway Co. to install lip;ht, at the corssinn
on First ;venue and Fourth rvenue.

warrants be drawn on the treasury; for the amount.of e?ch on the
fund maned.
