Meeting called to order by the acting Mayor. Present Alderman Davis, Horen, Laird and Hanner. Acting Mayor instructed the clerk to open bids for the construction of sanitary sewers in Improvement Districts 12, 13 and 14. Bids were as follows: Security Bridge Coippany 14 033.09 Rowell & Atherly 16 241.03 Gorden Taylor Co. 14 125.22 F. Lindstrum 14 998.10 Bardsen & Co. 17 472.99 J.F. Kelley 15 997.29 McLaughlin & O'Neil 15 422.70 Frank Savarasy 15 411.90 A motion made by Hanner seconded by Davis that the contract be awarded to the Security Bridge Co. for the construction of sewers in districts 12, 13 and 14 they be'n the lowest responsible bidders and that the Mayorlbe instructed to enter into a contract with the successful bidder for said work. Upon roll call the vote stood as f ollows: Ayes:-- D-dvis, Horen, Laird, and Hanner Nos:-- NRne. Absent:--Hageter: Minutes of last meeting read and approved on motion duly made, seconded and carried. Report of the water commissioner for the month of May avas read. A motion was duly made, sedonded and carried that said report be approved as read and placed on file. The treausrers report for the month of May which was returned to the treasurer for correction was read. A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that said report be approved as read and placed on file. Report of the chief of police for the month of May was read. A motion was duly made, seconded and carried, that said report be approved and read and placed on file. Specifications for pump and motor w~s read ana apmve3z On motion duly made and seconded and carried . Minutes of the City Council of Laurel The water power and sewer committee filed their report concerning the installation of a fifty horse power motor of five hundred gallohl,papacity pump and the changes recommended by the board of fire underwriters at the pump station. After reading report of said water power and sewer committee, a motion was duly nade, seconded and carried, that said report be a pproved and placed on file, and that, the clerk be instructed to have C.E.Shipman to prepare plans and specifications for said work as set out in said report. The acting Mayor appointed the water power and sewer committee to have man hole on the west end of main front sewer repaired. Anting Mayor appointed a street and alley committee to investigate the condition of streets and havethe same repaired where they thought necessary. /An affidavit of tax p«ying propert;; owners within the City of Laurel requesting that their names be withdrawn from petition protesting the creatinn of Special Improvement District Nb. 15 and the final passage of Resolution 91. A motion was made, seconded and carried, to file said affidavit. Resolution No, 91 relating to Special Improvement District No. 15 was reread. A motion was made and seconded that said Resol:utionNo. 91 be finally passed as provisionally passed. Upon roll call the vote stood as follows: Ayes:-- Davis, Horen, Laird, Hanner. No: --None. Absent:--Hageter. V Ordinance No. 122 creating Special Improvement District No. 15 was read. A motion was duly made and seconded that sai.c Ordinance No. 122 be passed and approved. Upon roll call the vote stood as f ollows: Ayes:-- Davis, Horen, Laird, Hanner. No: --None. Absent:--Hageter, Resolution:No. 94 relating to the creation of Special Improvement District No. 16 was reread, there being no protests filed with the city clerk against the creation of said Special Improvement District No. 16 and the passage of Resolution No. 94 It was regularly moved and seconded that Resolution No. 94 be finally passed ap provisionally passed and that theclerk prepare an ordinance creating Special Improvement No. 16 and present the same at the next regular meeting of the Council. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Upon roll call the vote stood as follows: Ayes: --Davis, Horen, Laird, and Hanner. Noe: --None. Absent:--Hageter. Resolution No. 92. relating to the creation of Special Improvement District No. 17 was reread, there being no protests filed with the city clerk against the creation of said Special Improvement District No. 17 and the passage of Resolution 92 it was regularly moved and secondee that Resolution No. 92 be finally passed as provisionally passed and that the clerk prepare an ordinance creating Special Improvement District No. 17 and present the same at the next regular meeting of the Council. A motion was duly made,seconded and carried,that the above bills be allowed that warrants be drawn on the treasurer for the amount of eachon.<th6 fund named. A motion was duly made-, seconded and carried,that the bill of A.C.Storm for reapiring the roof on the jail be referred to Hanner before being allowed. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel` A motion was duly made, seconded and carried, authorizing the acting Mayor to enter into a contract with B. C. Lillis, engineer, for his services in connection with Improvement District No. 15. eN allowing Pyr. Lillis five and one-half per cent of the contractors price for the construction of improvements in Special Improvement District No. 15. Adjourned nn motion duly made, secnnded and carried.
