Laurel, Montana. December 19, 1916.
The City Council met in regular session at the Council
Chambers of the City Hall at eight o'clock P. M.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Laird.
The following Alderman were present: Lamb; Horen; Davis;
Haner and Jacobs.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved
on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
Report of the committe appointed to investigate the dis-
appearance of a certain suit of clothes was heard and report
accepted and committe dismissed upon motion duly made, seconded
and carried.
On supported motion the City Treasurer was instructed
to enter into an agreement with the Burroughs Adding Machine Co.
to purchase one of their machines on the monthly payment plan.

Resignation of Jake Kifer was read and/on motion duly made,
second and carried.
A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that the bill
of Geo. Rowden's for lamp post globes be allowed in the amount
of $145.82 and warrant drawn to cover same.
The intake at the pumping plant was discussed and refferred
to Water Committe on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
James Dix having failed to qualify as Alderman it was necessary
for the Council to elect another Alderman for the Third Ward.
The following nominations were made'for Alderman; James Dix and L.
H. Ahlstrom. Ballot vote was cast and Jas. Dix received three votes
and Ahlstrom two votes. Jas. Dix decalred eledted.
Ed. Lamb's request in regard to changing shifts was tabled
until next meeting.
Adjourned on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
