On motion duly made, seconded and carried, tars. C..J. LIcIloy was granted a permit to tar, the water mains on VTyoming A 'Ie &. L I L' nue for the purpose of having water insal'ad in the Hotel. The Co-,--mcil took a recess of fifteen -minutes. A motion was 1 -ply made, seconded and carried,that the report of the canvassing board be adopted and approved. Said re7.ort- being as -47ollows; After having canvassed the returns of special alectuion held July 29-IIjhs1913j they reported that there were 48 votes cast for the establishment of a free public library, and 35 against; Ordinance No. 134., providing -for the-Ilestablishment and maintenance of a free public library within the City of Laurel was read. A motion was duly made and seconded that the said Ord4Ln.,_-,nce_ ne -passed and apfiroved as read. TUDon roll call the vote stood as "ollows; Ayes;Davis,Horen,gacobs,Laird. Noes; ro-ne.
