Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel,1lontana.July 18th.1918. City Council meet in regular session at the Council Chambers at eight o'clock p.m. !,-Ie ting wea called to order by the Ilayor. Thore were present the following a ldermen_; uoren,Sheilds, Davis and Jacobs ,irnates of last r:eeting r -ad and ap-roved on motion duly made , seconded and carried. Report of the Cheif of Police for the month of June was r read. A motion was duly madd,seconded and car-ried that the said renort be a c:epted and placed on file. Report of the State Examiner was read and placed on file. Final estimate by B.C.lillis on Special Improvement District To 18 was read . Amotion was duly made that the said report be accepted and placed on file but that no Bonds be issued to the contractor until the s_�id extention of water mains in said spedial Improvement district be put in good repair,to the satisfaction of the water commit -Lee and the City Co -anvil Proposals for the construction of improvements is Special Improvement Districts TTos 19,20,21,2nd 22 were opened and found as follows: :1cLaughlin cox 0 tiTeil 4,157.41 v.J.Rogers 41155.47 Phil Gehrett et al. 40957.95 A motion was duly made and seconded that the bid of 1v.J.Rogers be accepted and that they furnish a -.bond and enter into a contract with the city of Laurel as per th7e stipulations and requirements as set out in the ordinances creating the said districtsl. Upon roll call all aldermen voted yes. Resolution No 118 transfering $ 100.00 from the Executive Fund to the Park F`and was read and a motion was duly made and seconded that the said resolution be passed and'a proved as read. Upon roll call the vote atood as follows; Ayes; Koren,Davis,Sheilds and Jacobs. No, :Tone Absent: ,Hanger and Laird. Thresurer's report dor the month of June was fead and app- roved on motion duly made secconded and car-ied. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Resolution No 117 relating to tine creation of Special Improvement District No 23 was re -read. A motion was duly made and seconded that that tyrcegraphical error in relation to the description of the boundaries of the said district be changed to dead one hundred Thirty feet in- stead of one Hundred forty feettas it : a the intention of the City Council at all times to have the boundaries of the said district uniform on both sid"s of main street and along the :1.P.Company's right -a -way. The following protibsts were recieved and filed with the City Clerk against the creation of said district and the making of the said improvements; Virga V,,.Laird Lot 3,B1k.3 Laurel Realty Sub. Duet-cie B Held Lot 18,81;.3 Last Laurel. 11yrtle ?.Vance Lot 4,Blk 3. Laurel Realty Sub. Northern Pacific Railway company 222,000 SR.ft. The Northern Pacific Railway Company's protest was con- ditional with the understanding that iw the cor-oeetion was made in the description of the boundaires of the said dis district that they would with draw the same. The Council considered w1l the protests on file and found that they were insufficient to uto- the Council from creating the district being less then fifty-one per cent of the property embraced within the said -'istrict. A motion was duly mad and seconded that the ?protests be declared insufficient and that ti.e said resolution. No 117 be passed and apeoved as r:ad ,after making the change relating to the d scription of the boun:_aires of the said district. Upon roll cell the vote stood as foll6ws: Ayes; Horen,Davis,Sheilds and Jacobs. i, No; None Absent; Hance.._ and Laird. Ordinance No 133 cre -ting Special Improvement District No 23 was read and a Notion was duly made and seconded that t thensaid ordinance be passedand approved as read. U -?on roll call the vote stood as follows; Ayes ; Horm,Davis,Sheilds and Jacobs. No ; None Absent ;Danner and Laird. Frank Platz was granted permission to install a gasoline tank in the street in fromt of his lot in block three of the Laurel Realty Subdivision.
