Laurel, Montana, April 18th,191S..
The City Coancil met in regular session at the Council
Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Laurel, Montana,
at eiht o'clock P.M.
The meeting -:as called to order by the Mayor.
There were pres::nt, aldermen, Laird, Horen, Jacobsand Davis.
The minutes of the last meetin_: were read and ---proved
on mot -on duly :Wade, seconded and carried.
Dater committee which wa to re -ort on the equip•rf.�ent
at the pump mouse was continued and instructed to report at
the next regular meeting.
Communication from, the Industrial Accident Board concerning
a balance of .�1.e5 assessment for month of July,1 X15, t as read.
On motion d...ly made, seconded and carried clerk wa instructed
to forward said 51. 5 for asses.:ment in July 1915, as rer their
rs 1uest.
Protests filed with the City Clerk in Improvement
District No. 19 were found as follows; -

A motion was duly made, seconded and carded that the
said protests be declare,' insufficient and overrulgA.
IR-esolution No. 108 relating to the creation of special
Improvement District No. 19,w_ ---s read. A motion was duly�y�
made and seconded that the said Resolution be finallynand
apir,roved as read. Ur.on roll call the vote stood as follows; -
Ayes; Laird, Horen, Jacobs an'], Davis.
:Toes;- None.
Absent;- Hanner an' Hageter.
Protests filed with the clerk in Special Iinrrrovement
DistrictTo. '-0, were as follows; -
Ella R. Flunk Lots 8, 9 and 10, Block 13, Laurel Heights Sub.
A motion was duly made, seconded and ca::_,led that the
protest as filed be declarzd insufficient an,1 overrul
Resolution No. 109 relating to the crea, icr_ of Sc-ecial
Improvement District No. 20 r4as read. A motion wa___3 duly
made and seconded that the sai-:'_ Resolution be finally passe d
as read. Upon roll ca 11 the vote �tccd_ as ol1oT s;-
Ayes;- Laird, Horen, Jacobs and Davis.
None.
Absent;- Hanner and Hage -ter,

Specifications for Improve�rients to be constructed in
Special Is:rrovement District NO. 18 was �' proved and acc-j�ted
by the council after chan��in,�� the specifications concerning
the instal ation of inch and one-half galvanized iron pipe
to the installation of four inch woo" 1ipe. This change
was accepted by the bidders or t:i .ir at the
said rt:ecting and that their bids were considered with the
understanding that the wood pipe be substituted for that of
the iron.
The clerk wa� instructed t c cl en bids for the construction
of Improvements in Special Im-,rovement District No. 18, which

A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the
bid of McLaughlin & O'Neil be accepted and that the said
bidder enter into a contract with the City of Laurel for
the performance of said work and furnishin,:�, materials
as specified in said plans was sy eci-rications and alp o
furnish a pond in the sure of j","10�;0.0
�0 y �o be a -.-:proved by
the City Council.
The mayor recocr:?r:enf'ed the appointrren t of B.C.Lillis
as City Engineer to fill the vacancy of C E.' hipman. On
motion -'uly made, seconded and carried, the council approved
and confirmed the a'.-oointment as mare by the r:;ayor.
The Laurel Milling Co. as represented by Chas. Davis
asked the city to install a fire hyd_'ant near their mill,
they offered to furnish the material necess---ry in the
installation of the said hydrant if the City would pay
for the labor becessary in installing this hydrant.
A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that the
pro_,ositicn as offere' by the Laurel Milling Company be
accepted, and that the clerk be instructed to have McLaughlin
& O'Neil order the hydrant and necessary materials for the
installation of this -fire hydrant and install the same, ,-,,•hile
here puttinc, in the improvements in District No. 18.
A motion w,3 duly made, seconded a.n;l carried that the
burned barn of James Kennedy situate upon his property in
the Laurel Realty Second Sub. be declarer -.1 a nu nce, and
that the street colLfilissioner be instructed to tear down the
old barn and pile the lumber uro_1 the lots on which said barn
is now situate and that the cost of the said ej:pense in removing

this barn shKl be assessed against the prorerty as a special
tax.
