Laurel. Iiontana, November 6th, 1917.
The City Council met in regular session at the
Council Chamber in the City Hall at 8 o'clock P. Ii.
The 11.eeting was called to order by the I.iayor.
The following aldermen were present; Price
Lamb, Ryan, Hannar, Davis.
The minutes of the two previous meetings were
read and approved on motion made, seconded and carried.
Petition of R. D. Scott asking permission to
remodel and use the oTd ice -house in the rear of the
Contintental Al Co.'s office for the purpose of a
barn was read. I1otion was made to grant the request.
There being no second to the motion it was declared
lost.
Petition of J. Chidley asking permission to
erect a bill board east of the Park opposite the
Skauge-Olson building read and upon motion made, second-
ed and carried, the request was granted.
Petition presented by Dr. I"cCauley, signed by
a majority of the property owners on Lain Vit, to
install_ 'lost lighting system was read.
Iotion made, seconded and carried that the
Council proceed to create the district by resolution.
Motion made, seconded and carried to appoint
a comr:ittee to confer withn the Supt . of the F. 1'.
at Livingst6n for the purpose of interesting them
in placing street lights at their crossings here
and the Depot.
The Mayor appointed "?yan and Davis a committee
of two to wait upon the Sunt. at Livingston, in behalf
of the Laurel City Council , regardin g the ?proposed
lights.
Petition r.r(-;sented by H. J. Hilman asking that
the City Council renew license issued to the Laurel
Club, heretofote granted to it under the provision
of the ordinance of the City of Laurel, ws read.
Irlotion was then dull= made by Hannar and seconded
by Lamb that such license be issued.
Upon roll call the vote stood as follows;
I?ay; Price, Ryan
Aye; Dix, ?annar, Davis.
dot -voting; !Jamb
I'layor then instructed City Treasurer to issue
said license.
Yotion made, seconded and carried that the City
of Laurel stand the cost of making transcript on the
side Wald improvement districts that are completed.
The City 'Ingineer was authorized to instruct
Allen to make repairs on side walks according to his
instructions.
