The City Council met in regular session at the Council Chambers l;'O ./ o in the City Hall at eight of clock P. M. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. The following Alderman were present: Price, Lamb, Davis, Hannar and Dix. Chairman Davis of the Dumping Ground committee reported that they had secured an excellant dumping ground at the filter bed. Alderman Hannar reported that he engaged DeGarmo to install pipe) for-_f.11ing water wagon across from Valek store building. Application of J. Zywert for permit to move building occupied by Owl Cafe to Lot 9 in Block 2 of the Laurel Realty Subdivision was read. On account of ordinance prohibiting the erecting or moving of buildings of frame structure on Dain Street the request was n6t granted on motion made, seconded and carried. Proposals for the construction of improvements in Special Im- provements Districts Nos. 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24 were opened and found as follows: Rogers and Allen Concrete Sidewalk per sq. ft .14-i Curb per linear ft .35 Concrete Crosswalks per sq. ft. .25 Excavation per cu. yard .40 Grading and filling per cu. yard .40 A motion was duly made and seconded that the bid of Rogers and Allen be accepted knd that they furnish a bond and enter into a con- tract with the City of Laurel as per the stipulations and require- ments as set out in the ordinances creating the said Districts. Upon roll call all the Alderman present voted yes. 0. C. Bundy was instructed to repair road south of town. City Attorney and Treasurer instructed to collect back license from Minneapolis Brewing eo. Alderman Davis, Lamb and Price and City Attoorney Calder were appointed by the Mayor as a committee to inve ,gate the water situation in Germantown. Dr. McCauley was granted permissio ':`o dump dirt excavated from his lot on Main St. at crossings and of er places that need filling within the City. The Clerk was instructed to notify business houses along Main Street to procure metal containers for burning paper and other waste matter. The Clerk was instructed to notify all property owners whose property is situated on sewer lines within the City to connect with sewer within sixty days from date of notice, or privies so located will be condemned by the Health Officer.
