Laurel, Yontana, - Tray 3rd, 1917.
The City Council met in adjourned session at the Council
Chambers in the City Hall at 8 o'clock P. N.
Meeting called to order by the Yayor.
The following Alderman were present: Lamb, Horen, Davis,
Hanner, Jacobs & Dix.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved.
Reports of the Police Judge, City Treasurer and Street
Commissioner were read and accepted.on motion duly made, seconded
and carried.
Petition of G. E. Settergren asking permission to erect
an addition to his business building was read and permission
granted to erect said addition on motion made, seconded and
carried.
Communication from the fire cheif read and ordered filed.
The Clerk was instructed -to write the Fire Department -
urgingthem to get organized in such form that is necessary to
have the benefit of the $100.00 noir in possession o,' the City
Treasurer.
Communication frog: D.,Freza.je rears ani' ordFre-1 filed.
Petition of Etta Ifiller asking that F�' ronn.ing house license
be granted her was read. The clerk was irstrusted to secure
definite information in regard to the location of the rooming
house for which license wa.:, w ?ced .
The following bills were audited and read and warrarts
ordered drawn on the respective funds in payment of same.

The Mayor appointed Alderman Hanner, Dix, and Jacobs, as
tellers, who proceeded to open and canvass the returns of the
special water bond election held April 23, 1917.
The tellers having completed the canvass reported as follows;
Laurel, Yonta.na. P`ay 3rd, 1917.

We submit the following results after canvass of
votes of th- special election held April 23, 1917.
Ward Yo . 1. Bonds yes 5 ;
Bonds No. 1.
Nard No. 2. Bonds Yes 14;
Bonds No none.
Ward No. 3. Bonds Yes 11;
Bonds No. 3.
Total, bonds yes 30; Bonds No 4.
Total vote cast 34.

Tellers.
Moved by Alderman Hanner, seconded by Alderman Dix that the
report of the tellers be adopted. Carried.
On roll call all of the Alderman voted "Aye."
Whereupon it was moved by banner and seconded by Jacobs that
said proposition be, and the same is hereby declared carried and on
roll call all of the Alderman present voting "Aye" the Yayor declared
the same carried.
Ordinance No. 142 providing for the issuance of interest
bearing, negotiable coupon bondsby the City of Laurel, to the amount
of Four 'Ihougand Dollars ( 4,40!J.00) for the 11
purpose of procuring a
viater supply for said city which shall own and control said water
supply and de -Tote the revenue derived therefrom to the payment of the
debt, was introduced and read. Upon motion unanimous consent to its
immediate pas s aqe was granted.
A motion was made by Hanner and seconded by Davis that Ordinance
No. 142 as read be pdPsed and adoptee. Upon roll call the vote stood
as follows:
Aye: Lamb, Horen, Davis, Hanner, Jacobs & Dix.
Nay: None.
Absent: Pone.
Whereupon Ordinance No. 142 was declared adopted and was
approved by the Mayor, attested loy the Clerk, and the seal of the City
attached, and copy* thereof ordered posted in the following places:
First Ward, Laurel Creamery Building; Second Ward, City Hall and
Third Ward, Laurel Lumber Company Building.
On motion council adjourned.
