Laurel, Montana,- April 3rd, 1917.
The Council meet in regular session at the Council Chambers
of the City Hall at eight o'clock P. M.
Meeting called to order by the payor.
The following .,Alderman were present; Lamb, Horen, Davis,
Hannar, Jacobs and Dix.'
Reports of the Chief of Police, Police Judge and Street
Commissioner for the month of March, 1917 were read and accepted
on motion duly made, seconded and carried.
The Clerk was instructed to advise Yr. 0. Miller of Big
Timber, Montana, that the Council would be pleased to•start
proceedings for the creation of a special improvement'district
for the purpose of installing or extending the water main along
Fourth Ave., provided that Mr. Miller Make written request to
that effect.
Application of Lou Forrester for the position of Night
watchman was read. The Mayor appointed the said Forrester
night watchamn for a period of thirty days, which appointment
was approved by the Council upon motion duly made, seconded and
carried.
The following bills were audited and read and warrants
ordered drawn on the respective funds in payment of same.

The Clerk was instructed to go to Butte and take up the
sidewalk matter with Rogers & Allen.
Chief of Police, Fid. Lamb, requested leave of absence for
two weeks, which was granted upon motion made, seconded and carried.
Y eeting adjourned on supported motion.
