The following Aldermen; were present, Price, Ahlstror-, Alden and gill. The minutes of the regular session and of the adjourned regular session held un Oct. 7th ,-,!ere read, a motion 'was duly made seconded and carried that the i, nut.�s be adopted as read. The reports of the Police Judge and Chief of Police were pre- sented and read, a motion was duly made seconded and ca -3,11 -id that sazne be accepted as read. A communication from James L. Davis referring to the case of +'.E.Bagby who claims to have receive- an injury in Laurel on labor day due to a defective crosswalk on gain street and as!:ing for re- imbursement for lj days time whic i he claims to have lost as a re - salt of such injury,sr.a,s presented and read, a motion pias duly made seconded and carried that the ]Zayor and City Attorney take charge of this matter and effect to 1)?3t settlement or compromise poosible with this roan. This being the time and place for opening protests against tYe cre_;.L tiusi of Special Improvement District leo. 26, there being on file one protest, that of Mr.N.?f.I.Ioore, same was overruled as insufficient A Resolution No.147, a .Resolution creating SpeciAl Improve- ment District No.26 -;as introduced and read, a motion was duly made and seconded that same be adopted as read, a roll call resulted as follows; Yes Alden, Ahlstrom, Gill and Price. <to None Absent Davis and Sande The Resolution was declared adopted as read. This being the time and place for the opening of protests agaialst the creation of Special Improvement 7)istrict No. 27 there them being none on file; Resolution leo. 148, a Resolution creatine Special Improvement and District loo. ?l %vas introduced and read, a Motion rias duly rude/sec- onded f#;" that sarie be adopted as read, a roll call re- sulted e-sulted as fo llovis ; Yes Alden. Ahlstrom, Gill and Price. No IVone Absent Davis and Sande. _ The Resolution ,vas declared adopted as read. A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the Clerk be authorized to advertise for bids for the furnishing of electrical current for street and alley liFFhtiag poorer and lights at the I Minutes of the City Council of Laurel pumping station, and lights for the City hall and Jail. Ordinance No.162, an Ordinance fixing the compensation of the City officials was introduced and read, a rnotion was duly made seconded and carried that same be put upon its passage at the next -regular meeting. Application to close the alley running east and .vest part way through block ?_y of the Laurel Realt-, Subdivision to the City was presented and read of Laurel/ a motion was duly made seconded and carried that the petition be granted, and the City Attorney was instructed to pre- pare the nescessary procedure.
