The minutes of the last mrrting were -read and on motion duly made seconded and carried,. were approved. The subject of the purchase of a combined Road Grader ad and Scarifier was taken upand after some discussion, as to the m merits of the machine a motion vias duly mad- seconded and cAXXI carried that all bids for same be rejected and that no machine of that nature be purchased at this time, and the clerk -gs in- strcicted to so notify all bidders. This being the date s t for the ppening of bids for the construction of Crossways,, therebeing two bids received theXX1 Clerk ,as instructed to open them Phil Gehrett 33-1/3 cents per square foot, C. W. Laird 34 cents per square foot, both bids mad made to include all excavations and fills nescessary to bring walks to the proper grade. The bid of Phil Gehrett bting the lowest bid was accep- ted and the clerk v4as instructed to notify all bidders. Resolutiom,to create Special Tmprover,ent _)istrict read, Motion made and seconded that the resolution be passed,(NML Lu�` Roll call, Yes,- Price, Ahlstrom, Davis and Alden. No,- None Absent Gill and McCauley. The office of Alderman for the hird 7Jard being vacant owing, to B. H. McCauley removing; from the state, motion -gas duly mane seconded and carried that the office be declared vacInt. The Council then procFeds to elect an Alderman to rill vaczncJ in the thi d `.lard. C. B Sande was nominated, there beig no other nominations, nominations were declared closed , Ballott being tahpn, C. B. Sande receiving 4 votes, that number being all the votes cast, he was declared elected,. and the Clerk as i instructed to notify him of his election.
