Laurel Yont. fray 21st, 1918.
rhe Council met in regular session at the Council ^hamberin
the City hall at 8:30 PX.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor
The following Alderman were present; Price, Ahlstrom,
Davis and Alden
The minutes of the meeting held 11a3. 7th.,were read
and approved
The street and Alley committee reported as reccomend
in# the creation of an Improvement District for the constructin
of Sidewalk on the east side of Block 16 and the 'Pest side of
of Block 15, in accordance with petition submitted May 7th, and
the Clerk eras instructed, on motion duly made seconded, and
carried to refer same to the City Attorney for the preperation
of of the resolution ect.
A petition signed by eleven business men was subnittd
asking the Council to have a bridge constructed on Alder St.
and Second Aveto connect up with Railroad `own, on motion duly
made seconded and carried said petition pias granted and the
Clerk instructed to see to the construction, of same.
This being the date to open bids for Street sprink
ling the following being submitted were opened, Jas. Phil:lbps
$9.00 per day, Geo. Davis 48.00 per day, or in same ratio for
parts of days and O.C.Bundy for work on streets and sprinkling
:7.00 per day, after some discussion motion was duly made
seconded and carried that the bid of Geo. Davis be accepted.
Also this was the date to open bids for the eom
bined grader and scarifier there beim; one bid submitted, that
of the laurel Implement Co.,accompanied by certified check in
the sum of $1j0.00, to furnish the machine as described for
tet.

P:Kotion duly made seconded and carried that the
above be laid on the table x.75 until the next meeting, to
permit a furtherinvestigation.
on motion duly made seconded and carried the Clerk
,mels authorized to have his office remodeled and instal the
nescessary fixtures, also to have plaster and other repairs
made in the Council Chamber.
