Laurel, Montana, Larch 5th, 1918.
The City Council met in regulaf session at the Council
Chamber in the City Hall at 8 o'clock P. 1.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
The following aldermen were present; Lamb, Price, Dix, and
Ryan.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and upon
motion mace, seconded and carried, same were approved.
City Treasureres report for Jany was read and accepted,
upon motion duly made, seconded and carried.
The Police Judge and Chief of Police reports for the
month of Feburary were read and acceptbd, upon motion duly
made, seconded and carried.
An error in Special Improvement(No.8) District Bonds
was ref eyed to the City Attorney and City Clerk, and a report
on same to be submitted at the next regular meeting.
1u1otion made, seconded and carried to defer the passage
of Resolution creating Special Improvement Lighting District #1
to be taken up at an adj �brned meeting.
Motion made, seconded and carried that the owners of the
private crossings at the Davis Coal office and Cloyd Coal office
be instructed to keep at pTaper grade or remove them entirely.
The City Clerk was instructed to correspond with
different manufacturers of Road Graders, getting prices,
terms Etc.
The mayor appointed the following Judges and Clerks for the
City election to be held April lot, 1918.
lot Ward, Judges, Mrs. W. it. Taylor, W. C. Jones, and W1
L. G. Unger.
Cle°4ks; kers. Carrie Erb and Mrs. Mn. Gill.
2nd Ward, Judges; H. 0. Johnson, Mrs. D. H. McNeil and
Mrs. Fred Darrow,
Clerks; Mrs. T. A. Rigney and Olaf Nelson.
3rd Ward, Judges; Dan Reardon, Phillip Reiterman, and
H. T. White.
Clerks; Mrs. L. H. Royalty and hers. J. J. McFadden.
The mayor named the following polling places;
lot 'Hard;
2nd Ward; City Hall
3rd Ward
A motion was duly made, seconded and carried that the
Clerk be instructed to post notices of the general election of the
Cityc-f Laurel, to be held on the lot day of April, 1918, for the
purpose of electing an alderman for each of the three wards for
a term of two years, and the said notices to be prepared and posted
ten days prior to the day of said election in each of the three
respective wards.
