November lst, 1919.
A special me :ting of the City Council, called by the hagor at
at 3:00 P. Y. to consider means of coping with the fuel sutuation.
The following Aldarmen were present; Norris, Kenyon, Gill,
Alden, Ahlstrom and Sande.
Also the following Coal .dealers were present; T. R. Holmes,
A. A. LeBar, and J. C. Cloyd.
Terminal Agent, Baird and the City Attorney and Iv -Tc. Calvert
of.the Laurel Outlook were also present.
:the Coal dealers enpressed Meir willingness to turn over
the supply of coal nor in their hands to a Fuel Administrator, and
after some discussion rolative to me, --is of handlinE the situation,
it was moved by Alderman Yepyon and seconded by Alderman Sande that
the office of Fuel AdministrLtor be created and that the hAyor and
Council be authorized to appoint such official.
Ordinance Ho. 200 was teen ,resented and read. A motion was
made by Alderman Kenyon seconded by Alderman !Llstrom that the consent
of the Council be had for the immediate consideration of the Ordinance.
Motion carried.
Moved by hlder:an Sande seconded by Alderman Alden that the
Ordinance be passed as read, a vote being taken thereon, and all the
Aldermeq present voting "Aye" the Ordinance was UnInimously passed -2nd
adopted.
The I.iayor appointed Geo. Draff for the office of Fuel Aa inis-
trator, a motion was ;Wade by Alderman Sande seconded by Aldarman Alden
that the appointment of Reo. Graff for duel laminis t:rator be approved,
Motion carried
