Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
August 229 1919.
Pursuant to adjournment the City Council metL in the Council
Chambers at the City Hall, City of Laurel, Montana, at 8.30 o'clock,
P.M., and was called to order by Mayor Davis.
The following aldermen were present at roll call: Sande,Alden,
Ahlstrom and Kenyon. The Clerk announced a quorum present.
The surety bond of T. G. Stimatz relating to the sidewalk im-
provement districts was presented. The Mayor appointed Alderman Sande,
Ahlstrom and Kenyon to act with the City Attorney on investigation. The
committee reported back after investigation recommending that the bond
be accepted, if the date of completion of work could be changed to
October 20, 1919. Moved by Alderman Kenyon, seconded by Alderman Ahl-
strom that the committee report be adopted, and that the limitation of
time of completion be changed to October 20, 1919, instead of July 1st.
1920. Motion carried.
Mr. Swank, a representative of the American Surety Co. being
present at the meeting, stated to the Council that he had authority over
the telephone from Mr. 2d. A. Bailey, Vice -President of the Bonding Com-
pany, to make the above change if the Council so desired, and after the
above Mote was taken Mr. Swank proceeded to make the change in the bond.
A motion was made by Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman
Kenyon that all small out -buildings in the East and test alley between
Main Street and First Street in the fire district be condemned and the
owners be notified to remove same. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Alderman Alden, seconded by Alderman
Sande that we adjourn until 8 o'clock, P.M., on Wednesday, August 27th.
1919. Motion carried.
