The Council met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Laurel, Montana, at 8 o'clock P.t'. and called to order by Mayor Davis. The following aldermen were present at roll call : Sande, Alden, Morris, Kenyon and Ahlstrom. The minutes of the meeting held August 5th were read. On motion of Alderna,n Sande, seconded by Alderman Alden, a, vote being taken thereon the minutes were adopted as read. The Committee on the extension of the boundaries of the City reported, reccommending that the boundaries be so extended. Resolution No.180 Entitled a resolution of intention to extend the boundaries of the City of Laurel so as to include tracts or barcels of land contiguous to the City of I.a.urel, describing the platted tracts to be included, and fixing the time when, and the place where the Council will hear protests thereon was presented and read. Moved by Alderman Kenyon, seconded by Alderman Yorris that unanimous consent and vote of the Cozancil be had for the im- mediate consideration of this resolution. TTotion carried. Yoved by Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman Aiden, that the resolution by adopted. On roll cali°1,Lhe aldermen present toted "Aye". Motion was carried. The committee on the purchase of fire equipment reported as seeing no way to purchase equipment at the present time. Yloved by Alderman Norris, seconded by Alderman Sande, that the matter of purchasing fire equipment be dropped for the present time, and that the committee on same be discharged. Motion carried. The matter of paying Yr. Turner for overtime which he claimed to have put in as pumper during the months of June and July was taken up. Moved by Alderman Sande, seconded by Aldernan Kenyon that Mr. Turner be paid $60.00 in this connection.Motion carried. Mr. R. F. Coy, Manager of the Yountain States Telephone & Telegraph Company, appeared before the Council asking that a paragraph in the Construction Permit issued to them on February 6th, providing for clearance over i'lontana Avenue and `_second Avenue for any building now erected on lain Street in the City of I_a,urel, be stricken from the records, stating that the same aids illegal in that Telephone -companies were not required by State lags to furnish clearance for extraordinary traffic, but that he, personally, would see that clearance was furnished for buildings being moved without any cost to the City or to contractors moving the building. Moved by Alderman Alden, seconded by Alderman Kenyon, that above request be granted. Votion carried. Minutes of the City Council of Laurel A committee of railroad men appeared before the Council, complaining of the conduct of the Night Policeman in his treatment of some of the railroad men. A motion was made by Alderman Sande, seconded by Aldernan Alden that this matter by referred to the Street and Alley Co. -remittee for investigation, andthat they report at the next regular meeting. emotion carried. J4xxxRiU3: Alderman GiR being absent the Mayor appointed Alderman Alden on the Street and Alley Committee in his place. A motion was made by Alderman Ahlstrom, seconded by Al- derman;orris that the action of the Board of Health relative to server connections be approved, and that the City authorities take steps to have the ordinance relative to this matter enforced.
