Laurel, Yont. May 4h, 1919.
A regular meeting of the City Council, held in the C6tycil
Chamber in the City Hall, was called to order at 8 o'clock P,V. by
Mayor Davis.
The following alderman were present.,Sande, Kenyon, Gill, Ahl-
steom and Morris, being a majority.
Organization of the Council;
Alderman Morris and Sande were nominated for the office of pres-
ident of the Council, nominations closed, ballott being taken, Morris
received 3 votes, Sande 2 votes, Morris declared elected.
The Mayor made the following appointments,
Street and Alley Committee, Kenyon, Gill and Morris.
Auditing " Ahlstrom, Morris and Kenyon.
Water and Sewer " Sande, Gill and Alden.
Park " Alden, Ahlstrom and Sande.
Finance " Gill, Kenyon and Morris.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read, and on motio
duly made sedonded and carried werej adopted as read.
The report of the Treasurer was read, a motion was duly made
seconded and carried ti -;at same be acceptdd as redd.
The reports of the Police Judge and Chief of Police were read,
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that same be accepted as
read.
The committee on investigation of the water dept boobs reported
showing a bunch of delinquent water rents amounting to $1360.00,
they recomended a change in the system of bookkeeping, and that the
water commissioner proceed to c®llect the back water rents as fast as
possible and in the future shut off all sersices which are delinquent
over one quarter
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the money
now in the Water Intake Fund be deposited on a six months certificate
of deposit.
Application. of Geo. Sanchez to place a dign on the Cif:�y prop
erty east of Laurek Implement Cols. warehouse was read, A motion was
duly made seconded and carried that same be granted and the clerk be {

instructed to notify him
The 'ordinance referring to City licences was read and again {
i
referred to the Ordinance committee for their approval Alderman Ahl-
strom being appointed to act on the committee in the place of alder-
man Alden who was out of the City.

A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the appoint-
ment of the above officers be ratified by the Council.
Resolution No 153 �# o#i##`?i#�##Aub
relating to the creation of Special Im-
provement District No. 26 , was presented and upon motion by Alder-
man Sande, seconded by Alderman Ahlstrom, a vote was taken thereon ,
and said Resolution v -#unanimously adopted.
Resolution No. 154, relating to the creation of Special Im-
provement District No.28, was presented and read, and upon motion by
Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman Ahlstrom, a vote was taken there
on,and said Resolution unanimously adopted.
Resolution Ivo. 155, relating to the creation of Special Im-
provement District No. 31, was presented and read, and upon motion
by Alderman Sabde, secondd by Alderman Ahlstrom, a vote was taken
thereon, and said Resolution unanimously adopted.
Resolution No. 156, relating to the creation of Special Im-
provement District No. 32, was presented and read, and upon motion
by Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman Ahlstrom, a. vote was taken
thereon, and said Resolution unanimously adopted.
Resolution l -o. 157, relating to the creation of .Special Im-
provement District No.33, was presented and read, and upon motion by
Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman Ahletrorm., a- vote was taken there
on. and said Resolution unanimously adopted.
Resolution No. 158, relating to the creation of Special Im-
provement District j�o. 34 was presented and read, and upon motion
by Alderman Sande, seconded by Aldermam Ahlstrom, a vote was taken
thereon, and said Resolution unanimously adopted.
Resolution No,159, relating to the creation, of Special Im-
provement District No. 35, was presented and read, and upon motion
by Alderman Sande, seconded by Alderman Ahlstrom, a vote was taken
thereon, and said Resolution unanimously adopted.

Minutes of the City Council of Laurel

The City Clerk was instructed to publish a notice of the nas-
sage of each of the above Resolutions in the Laurel Outlook and to
to post a copy of each Resolution in each of the three Wards of the
City.
A motion was made seconded and carried that Wednesday May 14th
be appointed as clean up day, that the Mayor issue a Clean Up Day
proclomation, designating the ground for dumping garbage, and setting
forth that the City will furnish teams free of chargeto haul away
garbage on that day.
The fol&Otwing bills were presented and referred to the audit-
ing committee.
