Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Ment April 15th, 1919.
The City Council met in regular session at the Cpuncil
Chamber in the City Hall and was called to order at 8 o'clock P aA%
by the Mayor,
The following alderman were present; Davis, Alden, Price and
Gill. being a quorum.
The minutes of the last regular meeting and two special meeV*
ings were read and on motion duly made se'tonded and carried were ap-
proved as read.
A petition in form was presented from E.H.Woodard asking per-
mission to extend his basement into the alley back of his property
and same was granted,
Resolution No. 150, A resolution of intention to Create
Special Improvement District No. 29 was presented and read, a
motion was duly made and seconded that same be passed; a roll call
resulted as follows;
Yes, - Price, Gill, Alden and Davis.
No,- None.
Absent, -Ahlstrom and Sande.
Resolution No. 151. a Resolution of intention to create Speck
ial improvement District No. 30 was introduced and read, a motion
was duly made and seconded that same be passed; a roll call resulted
a-, follows;
Yes;- Price,Gill,Alden and Davis.
No;- None.
Absent;- Ahlstrom and Sande.
Resolution No, 152. a Resolution approving and confirming
the bonds drawn against the funds of Special Improvement District
No. 25, issued in payment of -the entire cost and expense of the
improvements constructed in said Special Improvement District was
presented and read, a motion was duly made and seconded that the

Resolution be passed as read; a roll call resulted as follows;
Yes;- Price, Gill, Alden and Davis.
Nb;- None.
Absent;- Ahlstrom and sande.
The committee on valuation of the lots in the new Nor. Pac.
addition submitted their report which was finally adopted as fol-
lows ; the comittee recomends that the lots in block No. one be
offered for sale at the following prices, lot No 1, at $37.50 per
front foot, lots NQ 2 to 9 'doth inclusive $39.00 per front foot
lot No. 10 $35.00 per front foot.
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the Clerk
be authorized to advertize for bids on the 10 lots in block No 1
of the Nor, Pac. add.it ion bids to be made in conformity to the
schedule on file in the Clerks office that bids will be received
until May 20th, 3.919.

A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the clerk be:

authorized to make application to the State Highway Commission for
Federal aid to pave Main Street the whole length.
A committee consisting of Alderman Price, Ahlstrom and City Tre►as
urer Settergren was appointed by the Mayor to look over the books of
the water commissioner and report at the next meeting,
A motion wqs duly made seconded and carried that we do now i
adjourn.
