Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Mont Apr. lst, 1919.
The City Council met in regular session at the Council
Chamber, and was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by the Mayor.
The following alderman were present; Davis, Gill, Alden,

The Sidewalk comm: reported as ha_ i4rng d afted the new l
sidewalk districts, and submitted a map of the City with the new
districts mapped out, reccomending that the districts be created
as shown, no further action was taken upon this matter at this tirn&�
bu was by consent of the Council deferred until su--h time as was
thought best to take it up.
The City Engineer submitted a new set of specifications for
the construction of concrete sidewalks and street crossings, a
motion was duly made, seconded and carried that the specifications
be adopted as read.
A communication fron The Thompson Yards Inc. was read, in
which they asked the Council to consider the sale to them of a
triangular piece of land located just west of their yard, and if
agreeable, to make them a price on same; also asking permission,
if the purchase is made to construct wooden buildings on same.
A motion was duly made and seconded that the Council offer
to sell the parcel of land mentioned above tp the Thompson Yards I
Inc., for the sum of $725.00, if proper title can be obtained, and
to issue them a permit, if they make the purchase, to build wooden
buildings on same.
A roll call resulted as follows;
Yes;- Ahlstrom,Sa.nde, Alden, Price, Davis and Gill.
No;- None/
Absent;- None.
So ordered.
The City Engineer and Eire Chief were appointed as a com-
mitteeto draft a resolution relative to fire protection for same.
A request was filed by E.H.Woodard asking for permission
to use h feet of the alley back of his property for an underground
coal bin him to cover same with reinforced conerete, the permis-
sion was granted, and the City Attorney, City Engineer and Clerk
were appointed as a committee to make arrangements with him for
the proper petition and pr.oceedure.
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the chief
of police be instructed to procure lisence from all owners of dogs
or kill the dogs, in the next 10 days, and if he hires anyone to
do the work he is to pay him out of his own pocket.
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the Clerk
be instructed to advertise for bids for street sprinkling for the

season of 1919.
The following bills were submitted and referred to he
auditing committee.

The Auditing committee reported as recomending teat the bills
be allowed as read.
and carried
A motion was duly made seconded/that the bills be allowed as
per rocomendation and the Clerk instructed to draw warrants for sa,
same.
A motion was duly made seconded and carried that we do now
adjourn,
