The City Council. met in regular session at the Council Chamber in the City Hall , at 8:30 P.M., The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The following Aldermen were present, Davis, Ahlstrom, Price, Gill and Sande, also the City Preasurer and the City Engin eer. The minutes of the last regular meeting and of special meetings held Feb. 5th, 6th and 19th were read and on motion duly made seconded and carried were approved as read, The reports of Police Judge and Chief of Police were read and on motion duly made seconded and carried were adopted as read. The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read, and on motion duly made seconded and carried was adopted as read. The street and Alley committee reported as having looked over the sidewalks, and they submitted a blue print of the City recomending that nww concrete walks be constructed whwre the red d dotted lines appear on same a motion was made seconded and carni ed that the report be adopted, and that so far as possible the new walks be constructed; A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the Street and Alley Committee together with the Mayor, City attorney and City Engineer be a committee to start the sidewalk improvements. The committee to whom was referred the application'of Mr. J.M.Alwine for a lease on a tract of land at the west end of the Cite Park, .reported as recomending that the petition be denied. same report was made in writing, a motion was duly made seconded and carried that the report be adopted and placed on file in the Clerks office, and the committee be discharged. The committee to whom was referred the matter of the lease of the Hall Lumber Co. reported as recomending that they be granted a lease for a period of three yeasts at a rental of x$10.00 per month, A motion was duly made and seconded that the above report be adopted as read, anFAmendment.- to ,.tha-�'abgve motion was moved and seconded a#'#,#Oi#, that the report of the committee be amended as follows ; that the Hall Lumber Co. be granted a leas for a period of one yearat a rental of $10.00 per month, with the privelige of a renewal of same for twwo years with the consent of the Council, amendment carried, original motion as amended carried Minutes ®f the city council ®f Laurel A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the Building inspector confer with Mr. Wold and endeavor to have him cooperate in an examination of the Westbrook Held Hall to ascertain as to th safety of the building for dances. The following Clerks and Judges of election were appointed, First lard; Mrs. H. A. Bundy and Frances Burla,, Clerks, Carrie E. Erb, Mrs. Helen Unger and Mrs Ora Gill, Judges. Second Ward; Mrs. Jos. Gehrett and Mrs. Minnie Standen Clerks, H. 0. Johnson, E. L. Fenton and Mrs. Darrdw Judges, Third Ward. Mrs. F. T. Martin and Mrs V. B. Mead Clerks M. W. Cramer, Mrs. Edith Royalty and Mrs. Belle MsFa.dden Judges. The following places were designated as voting places. First Ward E. D. Burla's residence, Second '.lard City Hall, Third •lard Hall Lumber Cole office. Resolution No. 149, a Resolution of intention to create Special Improvement District No. 28, was submitted and read, a motion was duly made seconded a# that same be adopted a as read, a roll call resulted as follows;- Yes- Davis, Ahlstrom, Price, Gill and Sande. A motion was duly made seconded and carried that the report be adopted and that the bills be allowed and warrants drawn for same. A motion was duly made seconded and carried that we do n now adjourn
