.December 21st, 1920.
The city Council of the City of Laurel, Idontana,, met in
regular session in the Council chamber of said city, and were
called to order 'bey Mayor i)avis at 8:30 p.m. At roll call the
following aldermen were present:
Bundy
Brohaugh
Vordahl
Morris
Hageman
Knudsen
8ausman
The minutes of the meeting held on :December 7th were
read and on motion, approval thereof was deferred to the next
meeting so that certain corrections might 'be made.
Corrected reports of the Police Judge for t1ie months
of October and TJovember, 19201) tiaere read, and on motion duly
made, seconded and carried, were approved as read.
The Clerk read a communication from L. C. Gates, owner
of the building used as City Jail, relative to a contract for
the ensuing year. I efinite action on this matter was deferred
until the next council meeting.
Contract with John Gibson, foreman of construction on
the Intake structure, was read to the Council. Upon motion duly
made, seconded and carried on roll call, the lulayor and Clerk were
directed to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Laurel.
Ordinance v224, modifying Ordinance a-212, _?;)roviding for
the issuing of coupon bonds in payment for the Tqu-Ming `a'Vater
"tension, was put upon its first reading. The same was referred
to the Committee on Ordinances, who after due deliberation, re-
ported back recommending its passage. It was then moved and
seconded that the unanimous conserr`b and vote of the Council be
had to place said Ordinance upon its immediate passaged. U?on
roll call all aldermen present voted "aye". It was then moved
end seconded that Ordinance ?=224 be passed and adopted. Upon
roll call all aldermen present voted "aye" and the said Ordinance
was declared passed and adopted.
It was then moved and seconded that u:,3on the submission
of a contract for the transfer of the title of the Eutting Water
tension to the City of Laurel, that the same be submitted to
the City attorney, and upon his approval -being endorsed thereon,
that the i ayor and City Clerk act thereon, on behalf of the City
of Laurel.
The Clerk was instructed to write to the Northern Pac-
ific officials asking permission to continue the present connec-
tion between the vutting Vaater extension and the R. P. Water 6ys-
tem.
it was moved and seconded that the City advertise for
bids for electrical energy for the needs of the City for the
next tiio years. lot-ion carried.
The Clerk read a communication from the Montana Poorer
company, guaranteeing that the poles erected in "Special Improv-
ement "Lighting i istrict No. 21i would be painted as per specific-
ations, however requesting that the painting thereof be deferred
until such tirle as weather conditions would insure a correct and
lasting job.
It was moved and seconded that the request be granted.
Motion carried.

,was submitted by T. A. nigney, City .engineer.
It was moved and seconded that the estimate be allowed
as read and that the Clerk issue -bonds in payment thereof, sub-
ject to the receipt by the City Treasurer of .1;;1,197.41, from The
11ontana Po,.er Company to cover the Engineering md. Incidental ex-
penses .

Estimate -1, sho,,rJ_ng the amount of work completed on
the ate r Intake to date was handed in by T. L. i- iotiey , City
Mfig ineer. It was moved and seconded that the estimate be approved
and that the Clerk issue a warrant in favor of John Gibson in the
sum of ';1,000.00, dram- upon the Intak Fund, same to be turned
over to T. A. igney, City Engineer for the purpose of defraying
expenses incurred on the said Intake. ,;lotion carried.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Street Coramission-
er and other City Of_cicials t1j t no fu<9ther new =cork on behalf of
the City of Laurel, should be done vvithout expressed authority
from the City Council.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, Claude
Gilbert was appointed as temporary &,pecial .police.
On motion Council adjourned.
