The Uity Uouncil of the City of Laurel met in spe-
cial session in the Council Chamber of the Oity Hall and
were called to order by Idayor .uavis at 8 o' clod 1?. ?.
The following Alderman were present at roll call:
Dorris
Knudsen
Vordahl
Sausman
Bundy
B ro haugh
Kenyo n
The Mayor advised the Council that this meeting was
primarily called to meet with me-nib era of the _,aurel Co,.=-
ercial Ghaziilzber for the express purpose of discaassfng ways
and means of improving the police conditions in Laurel. The
matter was discussed at lenght but no definite action taken
at this meeting.
Consideration of an ordinance designed to curb the play-
ing of cards and other games not within sight of the open
public was refered by the Tvlayor to the Committee on Ordin-
ances,
A peti tipn signed by certain residents of the Yellow-
stone Subdivision to Laurel asking _.the Council to appoint
a night-v,atchman for that exclusive district,was read. Tt
as moved and seconded that the request of the said signors
be granted,privided-that the salary for the night-watchman
be :arranged for by:.zt-l;e signors of the said petition. %o-
tion carried.
Moved and seconded that we adjourn. ???otion carried.
