Minutes of regular bi-monthly meetiiiA of the
City Council of the City of Laurel, State of Fontana,
heldt the4uncl chamber, in said City on the lst.
day of June, 1920.
The council was called to order by Mayor C. .e.
Davis at the hour of. 8:20 o'clock .!?. 'City Clerk

The minutes of the meeting of May 18th. were read
and upon motion duly made, seconded, arl carried, were
approved'as read.
The report of the eater Commissioner was submitted
and was referred to the Auditing Committee, with instruct-
ions to them to report thereon, at the next regular meeting.
The report of the Committee appointed to investigate,
the Street Commissioner matter was submitted upon-call of
the Mayor, the committee reporting that no definate arrange-
ments had been made, and upon motion duly made, seconded,
and carried. :'he committer was instructed to continue as
such and make report at subsequent meeting.

Pursuant to action theretofore, taken by the Council

Ordinance uo. 212, entitled "An ordinance accepting on the
part of the City of Laurel the offer of iint-uing Brothers, to
convey the pipe lines, water mains, and franchise of their,
crater plant, situated in the streets of the City of Laurel

and calling a special election for the purpose of authoring
t creation of the necessary indebtedness, for such purpoe,
erg providing for the registration of qualified voters n was
presented to the Council, and read in full, whereupon, by order
of the Mayor said Ordinance was referred to the eater

6swer Committee, who ret-.red for the purpose of special
consideration thereof, and subsequently, reported to the
council that the Committee recommended the passage of said
Ordinance as read. it was duly moved and seconded, that the
consent of all members present be given for the purpose of
immediate consideration, roll call being had upon said a

carried. i;hereupon, the Council roAeded tothe immediate
consideration of said Ordinance io. 212, motion being duly
made, and seconded, that said Ordinance be passed by the
City Council, whereupon, roll call was had upon said motion
and Llderman B ndy, .ageman, I?n-udsen, idorris, Sausman and
vordahl, voted in the affirmative, whereupon the.iaayor declared
said motion carried, and ordinance passed, and thereafter

in the presence of the Council, said Ordinance was approved

Antes of the City Council of Laurel
The communication of E. Gates, protesting the loc-
ation of hydrant, in fromt of his building: on Firs t Ave, and
petition for removal of such hydrant was read. Moved and seconded
that a committee be appointed to investigate the matter and make
report at the next regular meeting. Motion carried. The Mayor
appointed the already existing Water, Power and Light Committee,
Moved, seconded, that the Finance & -Purchasing Committee
,
with 1dr. ITletcher, of `Billings, relative to-4':t.he purchase of a'
safe, fo the records in the City Hall.
Ea. T. A. 2. Lamb,, appeared on behalf of a federal aid
project.
t was duly moved and seconded that Ordinance No. 212
should be posted in lieu of publication in a- newspaper.. and that 1
the City Clerk be dirrected to post-one copy in each of the foil-
owing places:- One the Pld creamery building oppo0ite the 12homp-
son Yards, on Main Street, in the first ward; on telephone pole
in front of City hall, , in the second ward; on the fence of the
Hall Lumber Company facing 1.1ain Street, in the third ward; and
on the telephone pole in front of the northern Pacific Hotel,
in the fourth ward, and that the Clerk also file copies of said
ordinance in the Office of the Mayor, :City Clerk, City `reasn er

.A. resolution was duly pffered and seconded, to the effect {
that E. L. Fenton` be declared the choice of the City Co-Ll. cil

for Office of Registration Agent under Ordinance No. 212, and
such resolution was duly adopted on the affirmative vote of all -, l

It was moved seconded and carried that the Clerk.rea-
dvertise forbids in Special Improvement Districts, 451 46, 47,
and also to invite proposals for the small isolated sections of
concrete work, all bids` to be submitted on or before Jude 22nd. j

Moved and seconded, that the Clerk mail copies of all ?
proposals to McLaughlin' & O'Neil, it H. Haas Co.. and the Wash_
ingtori..hrick, Lime and Sewer Pipe Co. Motion carried.

Moved and seconded that the report of the
auditing
committee' be adopted., and than the Clerk be instructed to draw
warrants upon the properfunds in payment of therbills approved. I
Motion carried.
Moved and seconded, that the license of the'Laurel
Olub now being opperated in connection with the Lobby 6moke
House be not renewed, until after investigation, and that the
Clerk be instructed to notif?r the city Treasurer, to refrain - ?`
