Moved seconded andcarried that consideration of these districts pass over to subse- quent meetings. Mr. Calder read a proposed ordinance providing for ,the receiving of bids in District No. 40, having reference to the Federal Aid paving project on plain Street but after discussion the motion for its passage was not offered and no farther action was taken except that upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the Clerk was instructed to no- tify the State Highway Commission that the Council would proceed no further in the matter until further notice. The Mayor called for bids on Special Improvement Li.gh.t- ing District No. 2. The clerk announced that no bids for that district had been received other than that of the Montana Power Co. Upon request by the mayor the bid of the, Montana Power Co. for said district was opened and read. `: - The amount of the .bid was $11, 617. The mayor referred . consideration to the power committee. The committee with-- drew to the office of the Clerk to consider .the bid and later returned and submitted the following report and re- commendation, "Laurel, Montana, May 18, 1920. To the Mayor and City Council. We, your committee having considered ` the bid of the. Montana Power Co, for the construction and installation of the improvements in Special Lighting Im- _ provement District #2 report, as follows. We find the said bid to be reasonable, and there being no other bids sub- mitted we recommend that it be accepted and the. contract -for the construction and installation of improvements in Special Improvement Sighting District #2 be let to the Montana Power Co. (Signed: Nels Fordahl, W. K. Sausman and Jo S. Brohaugh,.) Moved and seconded that the report of the committee be adopted and the contract be let to The Montana Power Co, Upon roll call all aldermen voted- "Aye" and the motion was declared carried. r Ordinance No. 210 being an ordinance declaring the . method of apportioning and spreading the assessment for the costs of improvements in Special Improvement District; �.; No. 38, providing for the payment of said improvements and the issuing of bonds therfor and creating a fund to. be'-kno as "FffTU) FOR SPECIAL IMPROV"�NT DISTRICT NO. 38" was read and was referred to the Committee on Ordinances. After due: " e . deliieration the Committee reported back recommending its passage. It was moved and seconded that the report of g. the committee be adopted and that unanimous consent and vote .of the council be had to place Ordinance No. 210 can y its immediate passage Upon roll call all alderii men voted . Ordinance No. 211 being an ordinance authorizing they . execution, issuance and delivery of cupfln bonds in pay ; rnent for the work and improvements in Special improvement- District No., 38 ' and prescribing the 'forrn, denomination and maturity date' of such bonds. was: read and was referred to'',LL. s the committee on ordinances. Upon roll call all aldermen voted "Aye". It was moved and seconded that 'Ordinance No., 21-1 be passed and adopted. Upon roll call all aldermen voted "Aye" and the said Ordinance was declared: passed and adopted. T. A.
