Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
!larch 16, 1924.
The City Council of the City of Laurel, laontana, met in regular
session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, City of Laurel, and was
called to order at 8315 o' clack 2.1M. by Mayor Davis.
The following Aldermen were present at roll- call: Sande, Morris,
Knudson, Vordahl, Ahlstrom, Alden and Kenyon. Brohaugh came in a little
later.
The minutes of theilast regular session were read. A motion was
made and accepted that the minutes be approved as read. !Motion carried.
The water at the Railroad Stock Yards came up for further dis-
cussion and was Again referred to the water Commissioner, but suggested
that he place signs at the water tap in regard to any person or persons
using this water for any other purpose than that for use, in the stock yards
only under the penalty of the law, etc.
The Committee who were to confer with Mr. Nutting in regard to
the Nutting Water System in the Fourth ;'lard were ordered to stand, but was
asked by the Council to see if 11r. Nutting would confer with his Attorney
to see if he could suggest any way, legally, that the City might take over
the water system in the Fourth ;`lard, and put it up to the City Council as
soon as possible.

The bill of ass. Dial, claiming damages against the City, was
read. The City Clerk was ordered to file the statement and advise Mrs.._
Dial that this matter must be presented through her Attorney in same man-
ner as presented at first. The motion was made by .Alderman Sande and
seconded by Alderman Ahlstrom. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Alderman Sande and seconded by Alderman
Dorris that the cemetery proposition put up by P. H. Hohmann be placed
on the-table until the next regular session. Motion carried.

The discussion arose to pass an Ordinance to change the salary of I
the City Police Judge. l

motion made by Alderman Sande and seconded by Alderman Knudson
that the Clerk be given the power to purchase a typewriter suitable for the j
City of Laurel, Montana. !Motion carried.

The Clerk was ordered to take up with the City Treasurer e letter
from the New First National Bank of Colambus, Ohio, in regard to their letter
referring to some bonds which they hold of Special Improvement District No. 3.

RESOLUTION NO.18'7 - A Resolution of intention to
create Special Improvement Jis rict 110.2,40 was presented and
read, and referred to a committee consisting of Aldermen
Sande and. Alden, who re-ported-back as recommending

A motion was made by Alderman. Zenpon and seconded by
Alde mmn -Ahlstrom that the unanimous conse?? t and vote of the

age. Notion carried.
A motion was made by Alderman Kenyon and seconded by
alderman Ahlstrom' that Reso_lution No , , 187, be passed, and upon
roll call, all Aldermen voted 1147-ell. I otion carried, and Reso-
lution No. 187 was declared regularly passed and adopted.

A notion was made by Alderman Kenyon and seconded by

Council be had to place the Resolution upo its i-mediate pass-'
age. D'Lotion carried.
A motion' was made by Alderman K-audson and seconded
by Alderman Ahlstrom that Resolution No.. 188 be passes, and
upon roll call, all Aldermen voted "Aye". Hloti on carried, and-
Resolution No. 188 was declared regularly,passed and-adopted.
A motion was made by Alderman Alden" and seconded byi1
Alderman "Kenyon that the. City Treasurer issue a plumbing license
to Mr. O'Brien. Notion carried.
A motion uae made by Alderman Sande and seconded bar
Alderman Kenyon that we do now adjourn this meeting until March
17th, 8:00 o clock S.LI., at the City Hall, for unfinished busi-
ness.
