Mayor Davis. The following Aldermen:. were present at roll call:- Sande, -Lorris,? 41--41, Knudson, Vordahl, Ahlstrom Alden and Brohaugh. f The minutes of the last regular session were read, a motion was made by Aldenna.n-Alden and seconded by Alderman Knudson that the `minutes be approved as read. Motion carried. - The Committee appointed to negotiate with ]dirs. Dial through her Attorney gave ,fback y no report; so was asked by Mayor Davis to continue the ? matter l?-??? The resignation of the former City Clerk and Water Counissioner, James H. Jordan, was-accepted and placed on file.. Mrs. Carey's letter in regard to water rent was read, and the sane was teferred to the Water Commissioner ad,&bz t#aerequest that he take the matter up with Lauman and Rowden. Mayor Davis appointed J. F.;,MacDonald, temporarily, as Treater Com- missioner and City -Clerk. This was made a motion by Alderman 11orris and sec- onded by Alderman Ahlstrom. Motion carried.' Motion made by Alderman Kenyon and seconded by.Alderman Morris that there be a committee, consisting of Aldermen Vordahl, Knudson, Sande and City Engineer Rigney and City Attorney Calder, to confer .with Mr. Nutting in regard to the Nutting water system in., the foutth waxd.' motion cai°ried. A motion was made by Alderman Knudson and seconded by Alderman - Ahlstrom that. the City Clerk place estimate Dumber 1, Special Improvement District 110:44 Sewer, Contractor, J. S. Evans, on file. Knudson 6.00 The Auditing Committee reported having audited the bills and re- commended that they be allowed, with the exception of the Yellowstone Garage Company for work and repairs on F. M. Quinn's car, which bill they stated had not been authorized. Moved by Alderman Alden and seconded by Alderman dhlstrom that the report of the Auditing Committee be "accepted, and that the bills be allowed as recommended and that warrants be drawn for same. 'Motion carried. t Mayor Davis presented the grader proposition at this time. The Russell Grader Eanufacturing Company of ylinneapolis, i;=innesota, will ship the City of :laurel-one (1) Russell Hi-way 2atrol, F.O.B. Laurel, 1dontana, for One :dundred Sixty-eight Dollars and Twenty Cents (`168.20). Liotion was made by Alderman Sande and seconded by Alderman r,-enyon that grader be ordered at once. emotion carried. J. F. MacDonald, upon accepting the appointment of Mater Commis- sioner and City Clerk, notified the %,layar and Council that he appointed R. C. Roach as Deputy Ci.tylr_Clerk. The-Mayor thereupon notified the Council that he approved the said appointment. The matter of the water tap at Stock Yards came up for discussion and was referred to the Water Commissioner with the request that he confer with the Depot Agent for suggestions of handling same. 1 ;Moved by Alderman 1dorris and seconded by Alderman Knudson that a' committee be appointed' to see Mr. Morris, of the Evans Plumbing Companfy, in regard to borrowing the tap machine for the present. The committee appointed were Aldermen Kenyon, Sande and Alden. Mayor .Davis issued instruntions to City Engineer Rigney to show Third Ward East Boundary Line to extend along the East Boundary of the City South of Main Street to the South City Limits. oved by Alderman Alden and seconded by Alderman.
