Mr. Calvert of the Laurel Outlook appeared to object to the form
of the printing contract eubm.itted by the City Attorney and read a contract
and bond with the request that the same be substituted for the previous con-
tract. It was moved and seconded that the contract a.n.d' band offered by L1r.
Calvert be accepted and execated upon the part of the 'City, Yotion carried. {
The Clerk read. a request from the Quest Hardware Company for per-
mission to erect a sign three (3) feet' by six (6)_ feet at the intersection
of the road running Forth and South, connecting German `i'o . with the City.
The said request was ordered tabled until the next regular meeting of the
Council.
The preliminary report of Mr. Godfrey, employed to audit the
books of the City of.Da-arel, was read and upon motion duly carried, same
was ordered filed,
Alderman. Vordahl, ;chairman of the dater, Power and Serer Com-
mittee, read a written report of that committee upon the City Pumping Con--
tract. The Committee recommended that the contract be awarded to Clan de
Gilbreath for the sum of Two H ndred ;Fifty and no/100 (250.00) Dollars
per month and submitted, as a part of their reeomraend!tion a contract

and seconded that the report-of the Committee beaccepted and that the
f Mayor and Clerk be requested to execute the contract as offered. Motion
f carried.
Alderman .udsen,. ehairman of the Finance aind purchasing com-
mittee, submitted a`report upon the ?1ail Cell dispute. Mr. Knudsen re-
ported" that a tentative agreement had been made with sir. Gates and his
attorney hereby 11r. Gates agreed to accept the suer of Two Hundred Fifty
and
($25G-.80) Dollars in fall settlement and the Committee recom-
mended the acceptance of the 'offer. It was moved and seconded that the
report of the Committee be. adopted and that the Clerk be instructed. to
vcite Mr. Gates-asking that a bill of the sum of Two Hundred Fifty and 1
no/100 (0250.00) Dollars be submitted to the Council for alleviance at
the regnls;r meeting.August 2nd. Motion carried.
Moved and seconded that we now adjourn.. Motion carried.
