Laurel, Montana,
December 6 1921.
The City Council of the City of laurel met in regulAr
session at the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor Frank Wright at. 8:00 P, M. December 6, 1921.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present:

The minutes of the special meeting of November 14th
were read and approved. The minutes of the regular meeting of
°y November 15th were read and approved.. The minutes of the special
meeting of December 2nd: were read and approved.
The reports of the Police Judge, Chief of Police, Chief
of Fire Department, City Treasurer, City .clerk and Dater Commis-
sioner were read and approved.
The bills for the month of November were refer red to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation., the Co mmittee
recommended the payment of the following bills;

Bills of Conn, Foxi Jacob Wombolt and. Geo. Gratwohl for X2.00
each for Poll Tax were rejected.. A bill of Davis Transfer and
Storage Company for $2 0.00 was rejected. A. bill of S. L. `Lebo
for $14,00 was ordered returned for correction, .A, bill of the
Midland Iron Works was -referro.d to the ,yor, and Water Commis-
sioner for an adjustment with them.. It was moved and seconded
that the report of the Committee be adopted: and the Clerk be in-
structed to drawwarrants on the proper funds for the bills al-
lowed, The motion carried.

.-n reduced was presented, It was moved and seconded that the
yi petition be tabled. The motion carried.

The Water Commissioner reported that Mr. Calder> and he
had had a discussion as to the responsibility in repairing a leak
between the main and the curb box on property belonging to Mr,
Calder, He stated that Mr. Calder seemed positive that the ex-
pense should be borne by the City. Alderman `ordahl'stated that
this was contrary to. the p xblie Service' Cormmission rules, rind
it was stated that-Mr. Calderts decision in regard to a dispute
with Mr, B-reckinridge was the oppotite. The Water Commissioner
stated that Mr Calder had requested the laity to repair the leak
and that he could `pay for it if it was not the duty of the GIater
Department to repair it. The Mater Commissioner was instructed
to bill him for the cost of the repair,
An acceptance of the franchise_ to Sohn LlcFadpen was-
read,
.A letter from the Mate Highway Commission in -regard
to the Federal Aid Project on Main Street was -read. The Clerk
was instructed to notify them that the City was not ready to
advertise at this time.
Ways and, means of securing evidence against law-break-
ers was discussed with an end in view of -prosecuting the offenders.

It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The
motion carried.
