The City Council of the City of Iat.rel met in tegula.r
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called
to order' by Mayor Frank 'fright at 8:00 P. M., October 4, 1921.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present:

The minutes of the re Ular meeting of September 20th {
were read and approved.
The reports of the Chief of Police, Police Judge, Officers s-
Chief of Fire Department, City treasurer and City Clerk were repo-r z.
read and approved.
The Committee appointed at the previous meeting to 1 o report ?
investigate `the. complaints in regard to the licenses reported from:
they had not had a meeting, but, hoped to have one the latter license comr ;
part o th is week.
The Mayor announeed that a reorganization of the
Committees would be necessary under the provisions of Section Committees
8 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Laurel, excluding
therefrom the Ordinance and Auditing Committee, The follow.- -rea:-uw)ointed'

The matter of proper drainage of the slough on Main Investigat
Street crest of .F-ifth`Street was discussed and the Mayor in-
strutted the Street and .Alley Committee to investigate the slough west
conditions` and report back at the next regular meeting. un ut-rset.
Bills for the month of Spetember were referred to
the Auditing Committee and after due deliberation, the Com-
mittee reportedback, recornding the payment of the follow-- Billa

It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee
be adopted and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants L6epternber.

motion carried.
The Mayor reported that representatives of the Ohio
Oil Company were interested in obtaining a franchise for nat-
ural or artificial gas maims and necessary building within the
City. He asked Mr. Garvey to give the details to the Council. gas Fran
proposed ordinance was read and changes suggested if it were
decided to grant them a franchise. IJr. Garvey stated that he chile. 3
had received a telegram regtesti.:ng a hearing before the Count-
cil Thnrtday, October 6th and asked if that date would be
satisfactory. As there were no objections offered, he vas in-
