The City Couneil of the 0ity' of laurel met in regular session, at the Council Chamber at the City Hell and we're Balled to order by Mayor Wright at 8: 00 p.m. At roll call the following Alderman were present Sausmat Kenyon Vordahl Clark i Bundy Biehardson Hagemaa j The minutes of the meeting held on May Ath and May 6th were read j - and gpen motion being made, seconded and carried, the same were approved as rdad, i The Water Commissioners report for the month of April, together with .a finanelal statement of the curter department :br the period of from Officer's July let., 1920, to date was read and approved upon motion being daly made, report seconded and carried. The Fire Chief submitted a report for the .mouth of May to date. The same calling attention to the necessity of having some of our fire: Officer`s: hydrants repaired, it was moved and seconded that the dater Bower & Sewer report. l Committee' anal the Water Commissioner make immediate investigation with view of having proper repairs made-as soon as possible,, A letter over the signature of Z, A, Nutting requesting on be- Farmergo half of the Farmer-1-s- Union the use of the City Hall for meeting purposes was read. It was moved and seconded that. the same be granted rovded the Union said Farmer's Union would agree to pay into the City Treasury 7..00 far each such meeting held. Motion carried. renu?st Mr. M, Weiland, representing the Crystal Ice and Fuel Co. of New ! . Billings, Montana, appeared before,the Council with a written request for Ice permission to erect fire-proof building 20$30 feet on lot 19, block 11 house. East Daurel Subdivision., It was regularly moved, seconded and carried, that the permit be granted. I The surety bond of Turner H. Early, City Treasurer, in the sum Bond of of $10,000.00 for the two year period expiring May lst, 1923, was present. ed to the Council. The same having been examined and approved by the Cit.g City .Attorney, it was moved, seconded and carried, that said bond be approved 'T-rea.s, by the Council and placed in the City's vault. . ,? The matter of having our water tank--painted and generally over- hauled v as referred to Alderman Vordahl, Kenyon and Hageman. The, said Commie- tee was further instructed to order any repairs they deemed necessary and m€lk report thereon at- the next regular meeting of the Courted- . The Clerk then advised that this was the time and date for the opening of bids for the performance of all street work within the City's Street- ? limits for a period of one year and forthwith opened and read to the Coun- cil the following bids: work Frank Turrell--man and team - per hour $1.00 bids. The Mayor thereupon appointed A, L.. Garv ??ty City Attorney and ins:tructe-d the Clerk to call the roll'. The ro intg beep. called, it was found to be as follows-: Four votes for and Attor?iey.
