HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 02.01.1921The City Council of the G ty of Laurel, met in regular session, in the Council Chamber the Ci*ty Hall, and were called to order by !?ayor Davis at 8:20 p.m. At roll Ball the following Aldermen were present: Morris Knudsen Bundy Sausman Kenyon Brohaugh { Absent: vordahl Hagdman i 1 minutes of the meeting held on January 18th were read and on motion daly made, seconded and parried, 4ere approved as read. January reports of the Police judge, atreet Commissioner , w and the Gh:ief of rolice were read. It was moved and seconded that all of the said reports be approved, %iotion carried. In accordance with the Gounci 1 t s instruct ions t the Council meeting held on January 7_1 8th, the Street and Alle epos e that an inspection of the work completed to dame in Special improvement Dis- tricts 34 and 37 had been made and recd-??ended that , whereas, the work had not been completed in a sa ;isfacto ry manner, bonds in pay- ? ment for the final estimate be withheld until such time as the nec- ? I essary repairs had been made. Upon being informed by the Clerk that these bonds had already been issued and. delivered, but, that the City Mill held in its safe bonds in the sum of 816.}fi_, payable to the same contractor, covering the -final estimate of District 36,, it was moved and seconded that these bonds be withheld until the repairs in Districts 34 and 37 had, been made. O'Donnell of the Mate Board of Health concerning Pranees,Ogg, proprietor,- and Maude Palmer a± t,ie Laurel Rooms, Laurel, Montana. It was: mo ve c l. seconded that the proprieter be requested to appear before the City Council in the Council Chamber at the next regular Council meeting and show cause why the license granted to run the Laurel Rooms should not be revoked. Alderman Hageman being absent, the Mayor appointed Alderman Brohaugh to act in his stead. Go. 142.00 Bond Buyer . 43.75 The Bill of the Yellowstone Garage Co was referred baci for cor- rection as to charges for taxi service to Billings. It was moved and seconded that the report of. the Committee be approved and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds in payment thereof. Motion carried..
