The City Council of the City of laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Mall and was called to order by Mayor Prank Wright at 8:00 P.. Iii. December 19, 1922. Upon roll call, the following aldermen answered present: Vordahl Pri ce Hagem an Richardson fold The minutes of the regular meeting of December 5th were read and approved. A report from the committee appointed to check up the street abandonment petition of the Northern Pacific Rail- way Company in which they recommended that the southern boun- dary line of the triangl-- at Alder avenue be increased to 260 feet on account of the line change occupying more ground` than was anticipated. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Wold that the City Attorney and City Clerk be instructed to obtain a change in this in order that action might be taken at the next regular meeting of the City Council. The motion carved. Estimate No. 4 and Final for Special Improvement District No. 54 for F, E. Evans Contracting Company was pre- sented and read, said estimate being in the amount of 17, 300.00, less previous Estimates Nos, 1, 2 and 3 of 13,000.00. It was moved and seconded that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to issue and deliver bonds to said contractor in the amount of $4300.00. The motion carried. An Account and Demar fMikalson and Mikalson for damage done to their furniture, fixtures and business on the account of a riot on the 28th day of November, 1922, was presented and read. It was moved by Price and seconded by Vordahl that the claim be disallowed. The motion carried. An. Account and Demand of C. H. Hass for $2440.00 on account. of damage done by a riot on the 28th day of November, 1922, was presented and read. It was moved by Vord.ahl and seconded by Price that the claim be disallowed. The motion carried. r Estimate No. 4 for Special Improvement District No. 53 from the State Highway Commission was read. It was moved and seconded that action be deferred until the cash fca'r pay- meat of this estimate was received from the State Highway Commission. The motion carried.
