The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called'
to order by Mayor Frank Wright at 8;00 P. IA. December 5, 1922.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered
present:

Knudsen
Hageman
Price
Richardson
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 21st
were read and approved.

The bills for the month of November were referred
to the Coriiittee on Finance who reported back recommending
the payment of the following bills:

It was moved and seconded that the report of the Committee be
adopted and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the
proper funds in payment of the bills allowed. The motion carried.
A. bill for James Rollman for refund on the Garba#e
Assessment for 1922 .of 013.00 was referred to Chief of Poliee '51o
ascertain if work was actually done on his premises.
The reports of the City Treasurer and Police Judge
were read and approved.
The contract and bond for Special Improvement District
No. 60, sewer, for Barry O'Leary, was read and approved.
Resolution No. 283.
Resolution No. 283, being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination and rate of interest of bonds. in Special Im-
provement District No,, 60 _and providing for the time of payment;
and redemption of said bonds, was presented and read. It was
moved by Knudsen and seeonded by Hageman that said resolution
be passed and adopted as read. Upon roll call, all Aldermen

present voted aye and said Resolution No. 283 was declared
passed and adopted,
Ordinance No. 257.
Ordinance No. 257, being an ordinance creating a
fund to be known as `'Fund of Special Improvement. District
No. 6011 of the City of Laurel, was presented and read.
Thereupon, it was referred to the Sewer Committee consisting
of Clark, Richardson and Price. After due deliberation, the
Committee reported back recommending its immediate passage.
It was moved by Hageman and seconded,by Vordahl that the.re-
port of the Committee be adopted and.that the unanimous con-
sent and vote of the Council be had tbz ..Place Ordinance No,
257 upon its immediate passage.. Upon roll call.' all Aldermen
present voted aye. It was moved.by Knudsen and seconded by
Hageman that Ordinance No. 257 be. passed and adopted. Upon
roll call, all Aldermen present voted "aye .and said Ordinance
was declared passed and adopted.
Estimate No. 1 and Final, Special Improvement Dis-
trict No. 60, Contractor Barry O'Leary, was Sresented and
read. Said estimate being in the amount of 315,00. -It was
moved by Clark and seconded by Vordahl that the .Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to execute and deliver bonds to said con.-
tractor in the amount of $315.00, upon receipt from him of
$50.00 in payment of engineering and incidentals The motion
carried.
A petition from the Northern Pacific Railway Company
requesting the City to abandon certain streets and highways
now existing along and across their right-of-way was'presented
and read. After some discussion, it was moved and seconded
-that the Mayor appoint a committee to investigate the matter
in order that those streets that ark esseht? al:'for'traffic
should not be abandoned. The motion carried. Thereupon the
Mayor appointed Price, Vordahl and Hageman.
The matter of supplying blankets for the City Jail
was discussed. It was moved and seconded that the City Clerk
be instructed to purchase suitable blankets for the jail. The
motion carried.
After some-discussion in regard. to delinquent water
rentals, it was moveby Knudsen and seconded by Price that the
Water Commission be instructed to collect all bills for water
in the current month without carrying any balances forward and'
that in case of failure on the part of any consumer to comply
with the rules that services be diBcon:tinued, The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The,
motion carried.
